A real mess. Has little to offer to the serious musician.

Most beautiful and bizzare solos (see Packard Goose and Watermelon in Easter Hay). Was truly a musical genius and is illustrated in his playing.

Behind his hilariously cool/funny exterior he is a damn capable player. Has had a long illustrious career bringing together rock (soft AND hard), blues, jazz and good old unclassifiable genres.

Frank was one of a kind. The two times I had the opportunity to see him perform still rank as the best concerts I've attended. Of the 75+ concerts I've seen, his were the most technically demanding. This list includes AC/DC, Led, Eagles (w/Walsh), Doobies, Van Halen, Journey, Foreigner, Petty, J. Geils, Talking Heads, U2, Blackmores Rainbow, etc. Underrated as a result of his experimental attitude towards music and the inability of most to relate to what he was trying to accomplish. A true innovator.

Would be rated #1 if he had only been Glamorus. Wildy experimental, didn't belive music had to be always melodious or pretty. Try playing his stuff...if you dare.

He was a musical genius, so much more than Hendrix and such.
