There was a set at my grandparents' house, and they were OK when I was bored, but even though they seem like a good toy, I was never into them. My little brother eventually got a tinker toy set of his own, but I don't think he played with them that much either.

Good toy. . .but a three for me because (and this is probably my fault) they tended to break easily because they were made of wood. . .hence my higher rating of Legos.  And as another reviewer says, they are presently made of plastic hence they're probably better now than they were before. 

When I was a kid, these were made of wood, which had a tendency to swell and make whatever structure you built semi-permanent. Now they're made of plastic, which solves that problem. Not a bad building toy.

I will always have a love for Tinker Toys. As a small child, I loved these--and played with them up until I was 7 or 8. I built all kinds of stuff with these things. Certaintly better than all of that slime and goop junk, let's hope these toys continue to sell and sell well!
