I remember having a wide variety of coloring books from Disney, Barbie, and Looney Tunes to the more obscure titles such as "The Honey Hill Bunch" and "Ginghams", complete with the colorful 64-pack of crayons that had a built-in "sharpener". Coloring was one of my favorite things to do, right up there with paper doll books. I wasn't the best at "staying in the lines", but it was enjoyable, all the same.

I may have tossed a couple Star Wars coloring books in the nephews stockings...

I wasn't into coloring books for very long. There were a few I liked, but it didn't take long before I just wanted to draw my own pictures.

Coloring books have seemed to be around forever. for the most part can still be inexpensive.can still be enjoyable to sit down and color when my kids were younger.Coloring books can change with time by featuring the popular cartoons of the day and some old too. good for the artistic imagination picking out which colors to use. still enjoyable fun.

I think all kids like these and we had quite a few - as they were usually cheap and readily available at the grocery store - making them a cinch to make it to the successful end of the impulse-buy or, as we came to think of it the "mom pahleeez get me this" list. I remember at one point becoming overly fascinated by the turquoise crayon in my big box of Crayolas (yeah, that's right, the cool one with the sharpener). I believe I managed to fill an entire Quick Draw McGraw coloring book before the turquoise period ended and I moved on to a more realistic approach. Overall, I enjoyed them but often found myself turning to the blank sections on the back of the covers to draw my own pictures.

I still like coloring books, but one thing that annoys me, is all of the new colors in a crayola box. Hard to get used to them.
