How could you not love pumping your super soaker in anticipation of the next unsuspecting victim to cross your path?

They were usually annoying cause most of the time you were surprised by some annoying punk kid shooting at you and didnt want water in your face.

When my kids wanted to water fight in the yard, I invoked the "Dad Rule" and got to use the hose. 

It is fun but they tend to be cheaply made and break/fail rather easily. . .also loses points for invoking the possibility of having a police officer mistakenly shoot the out-too-late carrier of said water gun. . .

What was more fun in the hot summer days than squirting each other with a water pistol? They had a much shorter range than todays supersoakers,and thus we got more exercise chasing each other around.

water guns were cool but when the super soaker came out it took the game to a whole other level

The old ones were fun... for about 10 times then they broke, but those new super ones are awesome. I never get sick of playing with the kids with those.

They haven't lost their appeal, their still good fun today.

Cheap fun! These fell into the category of junky toys we would buy at the local drug store along with things like candy necklaces, parafin lips, tops, bubble gum cards and comic books. I remember once, at the end of the school year in Jr. high, kids were bringing these to school and squirting each other on the sly. The best though was the last day of typing class when an all out sqirt gun shoot out broke out. It kind of made up for all the tension I always felt in that particular class.

Super-Soakers were great . . . until you ran up to the kid who was smart enough to just grab the garden hose . . .

Water guns were fun in the summer. You could play tag with them and I remember one time my friend squirted a guy in the face who was driving by in his car. Isn't that awful?
