Extremely underrated

Gee, they invented skunk. Roughly 85-90% of all music made after 1980 that sucks owes something to the Iggy and the Stooges. This is BY FAR one of the worst inclusions of the RRHOF. Iggy DEFINES Rock and Roll? ROFLMAO ..he is the clown Prince.

why they are not in the hall keeps me up at night

The first three Stooges albums were tremendous and very influential.

Dance to the beat of the living dead!
It's unbelievable the HOF doesn't have the Stooges included. What could be the reason?

Gee, they invented punk. Roughly 85-90% of all music made after 1980 that doesn't suck owes something to the Stooges. This is BY FAR the most egrarious oversight of the RRHOF. Iggy DEFINES Rock and Roll.

Hugely innovative and influential. Should be a given. But he would probably be rude to the nominating committee in his acceptance speech because he has had too wait too long. Might not happen.

Iggy and the Stooges in The Rock N Roll Hal Of Fame! Lets face it finally, they have shaped punk and there wouldn't be any if they didn't exist!
thunders5 01/07/2007
the stooges are the greatest rock and roll band of all time its rediculous that they have been skipped 5-6 times when in the running
disgust4PCness 11/09/2006
Absolutely...hugely influential to numerous genres of rock...along with NY Dolls. Should be in there.
sfalconer 03/13/2006
Curly, Larry & Moe, this seems a little strange to me.
evan_s 02/21/2006
They were nominated last year (2005) but not voted in but expect them to be nominated again next year.

May not ever happen, but the Stooges, MC5 and New York Dolls all deserve to join the Velvet Underground as the founding fathers of Punk.
lumpygravy156 10/17/2005
It's so obvious that The Stooges deserve it...
kingguiness 07/15/2005
Yes this is real Punk! Take that you Emo Wankers!!!!!!!!!!!
Underspin 03/15/2005
Only Iggy Pop could've written the line: I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm.
Djahuti 03/10/2005
These guys were punk and grunge decades before the terms were coined. They made several great albums, and gave live performances none would forget.David Bowie himself worshipped Iggy!
Skizero 01/13/2005
without this band and the velvets, you'd have no punk rock....at least not the good punk rock. i'm sure some corporation still would've come up with Good Charlotte, Sum 41, and Green Day.
