Both my dogs love them. I have one 6 year old Pom and one 1 year old Pit bull. They both love them. They are good to help with bad breath and cleaning the teeth. However, they tend to be a rich treat and may contribute to excess weight gain. Also, the recommended sizes to give your dog is often a bit off. It will say a 10 pound dog should have a tiny size but I give my the petite size because he gobbles the tiny size too fast. Basically you need to buy a bigger size to make sure the dog does not eat it too fast and reduce the possibility of choking. Again, a treat which must be supervised because they can choke or eat them too fast but they are completely edible. They help to exercise the jaw but can lead to excess weight and you often need to buy the next biggest size than what the brand recommends because the recommendations tend to be too small. Otherwise, a pretty good treat for your dog every once and while. Bit expensive but not bad for the occasional treat.

As for the nutritional quality and good ingredients, they are not too good, which is another reason they should only be given every once and while. If you want something for your dog to chew daily I recommend nylabone non edible chew toys. Greenies are good but should be limited in terms of frequency.

My Toy Chihuahua loves them!
But my lab does not.
I like greenies because they do, do a good job cleaning dog's teeth.

Greenies are a lot safer now than they were a few years ago, more digestable. However, they are very fattening. Half the calories they need in a day are in a single greenie, so if you are going to give them to your dog do so sparingly, a couple times a week at most. They do seem to make teeth cleaner.

CAUTION: make sure you are feeding the right size for your dog.
Do not use if under six months of age.

My dog half likes greenies. I saw half because they need to sit on the floor for atleast 2 weeks before he will go near them. However, while he half likes them I don't see them doing much for his teeth of bad breath. I wish that it would. The price is really expensive and I wish they would drop in price because I can find other products my dog likes more for a more reasonable price.

I didn't realize how great Greenies were until I stopped giving them to my dog! I noticed a real difference in her breath. While I do like what they do for her dental health, I don't like the price, so I just cut them in half. My dog has clean breath, beautiful white teeth and no tartar.

I bought these for my two dogs. One of my dogs is young and healthy. He seemed to enjoy the treat with no side effects except black poop. My senior guy seemed fine until the next morning. He wouldn't eat anything but grass. A few poops later and a pile of grass drenched in some dark green ooze was left laying in the yard. I left the mess until it hardened because there was no real way to pick it up. When I did, it was like a piece of wax.

I bought them because they seemed so popular. I will not be buying these again.

PROBLEM WITH NEW GREENIES FORMULA, AND WITH DOG.COM! I have been a loyal Greenies customer for about two years, starting with the old formula. Not only did my dog hesitate when I gave her the new formula for the first time, but now I can only give Greenies two stars because the new formula is defective ... it goes moldy! Well before their expiration date, you'll start to find tiny, white, fuzzy mold spots all over them. I've even seen this in the bags of Greenies in pet stores. I keep them in a cool dry place but it doesn't help. So I called dog.com for a refund or exchange or store credit, but DOG.COM DOES NOT STAND BY ITS PRODUCTS! My dog loves Greenies but she does sometimes get a chunk stuck in the side of her teeth and needs help getting it out. Factoring in all of these problems, I am sincerely disappointed. I want Greenies to go back to the old formula!!!

My review is now changing since greenies created their new product. They are now preserving the greenies with propyl gallate...a close relative to anti-freeze. It is also a known carcinogen. Now, greenies are not horrible if only fed once or twice a month, however for those of you who feed this on a daily basis, be cautious, a may cause cancer.

My dog Chloe loved them. Yet i heard about them not being so safe. Then my vet said they are no longer going to carry them for dogs. So to be safe i'm gonna try to find her a NEW favorite chew bone!

The issue that is most important about buying Greenies for your dog is the size. Before they came out with Teenie Greenies I had to get my Teeter the Petite ones and I had to watch her because she had problems with the tooth brush side, I always worried that it would fall into her throat and she would choke, but now that they made a size better suited to her I have not only seen her gulp them down easily, but no more left over tooth brush heads everywhere, lol. I have talked to my Vet about them and he said they are very good for most dogs, but that some dogs seem to have a sorta allergic reaction to them, where they get sick to their stomach, so you have to watch for that too. As for my dog, she loves them so much and they are really good for her teeth, I did indeed see a great improvment in her teeth between cleanings.

Thanks Shakespear'sMom. I have worked for vets for awhile and put greenies up there with rawhide. We have seen quite a few animals have problems after eating greenies. They don't digest easily and cause obstructions which can lead to surgery to fix. I as a trainer/groomer/vet clinic employee don't recommend them.

After watching the special on CNN regarding the number of deaths caused by Greenies, I felt it was necessary to inform others as to the dangers involved. It was shown that Greenies are becoming lodged in the throats and intestines of dogs, which causes obstruction and ultimately causes a slow, painful death. I urge everyone who uses Greenies to check the story out and make sure your dog is safe.

Healthy chew for dogs, unfortunately some are quite fussy with the taste of greenies.

My dogs love their Greenies. The ingredients are natural and an added bonus is that they freshen their breath. Greenies tend to be a bit pricey so this is a special snack they get a couple of time a week rather than every day.
