Like puppyloverkb says, these are dangerous to give your dog.
I would highly recommend bully sticks as a safe, natural alternative.

Warning, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCOMSTANCE GIVE YOUR DOG RAWHIDE!!! Aside from that fact that it can break off into big pieces and get stuck in your dogs throat or God forbid cut your dogs throat, for a dog to swallow rawhide is like a person swallowing a pack of bubble gum. It expands and cannot be digested in the dogs stomach.

I am not a big fan of rawhides. My dog once got one stuck in her throat, and we had to reach in and fish it out. Also, if they eat too much, it can cause bowel obstructions. I do let mine have certain rawhide bones, only if I'm home.

I give it to my puppies at 4 weeks of age and they chew on it. They never have a problem because they learn how to chew it. If you withold something the dog will not learn how to deal with it and that poses a danger!

Expands in the dog stomach. Very dangerous.

I agree with Irish. I was told a long time ago that these can be dangerous. On rare occasions Ive given my older dog one of the square chips (opposed to the bones with the knots on each end) or the rawhide sticks that breaks up into small pieces as they're chewed. He pretty much annihilates these. Still, its probably not a good idea to take chances.

Not, in my opinion, a good idea, particularly for a big dog. They tend to be able to gnaw off large chunks and swallow them, which isn't exactly easy on their digestive tract.
