 | epiphany (0) 01/10/2005 | I live in a red state but he should not be so smug about winning the red states. I didn't vote for him, as I know a lot of Dems didn't, and he almost lost my state. But in the end, he did get the electorial votes. I'm like the British magazine that had How could 59,000,000+ people be so stupid? That was the best headline I had seen about the election because I would like to known how so many people could be so stupid.
The Republicans do not even have a clue about why the Democrats objected to the electorial votes being given to Bush from Ohio. According to the Republicans the Dems were sore losers, sour grapes, can't accept losing, etc.
First, it should have been done in 2000 but Gore would not let them. If Gore himself had objected in 2000, or if he let any senator sign the objection of the votes of Florida, there would have been a debate of the House and the Senate; however, then the Dems had the majority, and the House and the Senate would have voted Gore as the President. However, Gore did not want this stigma hanging over his head during his presidency. Obviously, it doesn't bother Bush as he let the Supreme Court place him in office in 2000. Now, in 2004, Bush was put in office by the Congress of the United States. Now his legacy will show him to be the only two-term president to have never been elected by the people, and during both elections, there were complaints and lawsuits of voter fraud. He is utterly disgraceful.
