Once Again, HE'S FROM TEXAS 1

Kinky Friedman, Ann Richards, Bum Phillips, Willie Nelson- now those are TEXANS! Bush is a faux Texan, actually a Yankee.

Even if he were; I'm still at a loss as to how this makes him "the biggest moron ever". There are far better reasons to think this man is a bad President, none of which have to do with his place of birth or where he was raised.

Actually, he's from Connecticut. He merely used Texas as a political base. For Bush it wasn't a bad move making his start in poltics in Texas. Demographically, the countries population has been shifting south and west. The Bushes took advantage of this and made a national political career out it.

If the biggest argument you have against the guy is where he's from, he must be a pretty good guy. Saying President Bush is an idiot simply because he is from a particular region of the country is like me saying everyone from Califoria is a love child freak who needs to get a life. Now that's not true, there are many great people from California and most of them have lives so my saying that would be an unfair generalization. It's the same with saying President Bush is an idiot because he's from Texas. It's a completely ludicrous argument against the man.

Exactly right. Those dumb Southern hick sleazeballs. I betcha Bush did nothing during his years as Texas governor besides admitting more inmates on death row. I betcha he smoked pot and did coke with the current Texas governor Rick Perry at the Governor's mansion.

Exactly. Where a person was born has absolutely nothing to do with them being a moron or not. I am more than confident that it makes no difference to those of you from the red states that Bush was born in Connecticut.

Texans are what's good and bad about America and Bush falls right in line with that so he's no so much of a moron being from Texas as he is a real American.

In spite of all of the common sense replies that were posted under the original heading, apparently some people feel that if a person is from Texas they lack a certain cultural upbringing that liberals in the blue states feel belongs exclusively to them. If one feels that way about President Bush then it only makes sense that they must feel the same way about: Liberal newscaster Dan Rather who was born in Wharton. Wharton, in case you didn't know, is in Texas. Rather is a flaming liberal. He is also from Texas. Liberal-----Texas... You got that? Say it three times then move to the next challenge. Democratic president, author of the (failed) great society...god of liberal give away programs, Lyndon B Johnson, the 36th president of the United States was born in Stonewall. Stonewall is not in Jackson Mississippi as some elitists may think, Stonewall is in Texas. Comedienne and actress Carol Burnett was born in San Antonio. You may have heard of San Antonio. It is in Texas. You may have even heard of Carol Burnett. She's an actress and a comedienne. Baseball pitcher Nolan Ryan.... even liberal elitists have heard of him, he was born in Refugio. Refugio is not a barrio of illegal Mexican immigrants... it is the town in Texas where Nolan Ryan was born. Cosmetics entrepeneur Mary Kay Ash... all liberal elitists know her...she drove a pink Cadillac. She was born in Hot Wells. Guess where Hot Wells is located? (music from final Jeopardy plays in the background) That's right! Texas! You're batting 100% so far! Ever hear of Buddy Holly? I know his music may be old and outdated but he is considered a rock and roll legend and many modern artists still pay homage to the man and his music. Well shut my mouth.... guess where he was born? Lubbock.....oh dear me...you'll never guess where Lubbock is.....That's right! Texas! Good golly Miss Molly but you are on a roll today........ Let's try some more.... Roy Orbison.... you may have heard of him. He was singing rock and roll music when most modern liberals were still sitting in their old man's you know whats. He was born in Vernon. No, Vernon is not in Jordan, that was the Carter administration. Vernon is in........ Yep! You got it! Texas! This next guy is someone I know you've heard of.....he is a computer billionaire, a philanthropist (no, no, no...a philanderer is Teddy Kennedy, this is a phil-an-thro-pist) and he was a two time (if you have trouble counting to two, have a topless model stand in front of you) presidential candidate for the Reform Party... H. Ross Perot. Guess where old H. R. was born.....oh go ahead...take a guess.... there's no penalty for wrong answers.....he was born in Texarkana......and you know where Texarkana is? No, it's not halfway between Texas and Arkansas, all of it sits in Texas! There is this Supreme Court Justice named Sandra Day O'Connor. Supreme Court Justice....that means she's important. More important than Michael Dukakis even..... she was born in El Paso. Now take out your maps and look in the index and guess where you'll find El Paso? Give up? Texas of course! Willie Nelson, a famous singer and songwriter, he was born in Abbott. No, Abbott is not half of a famous comedy duo.....try again..... It's a city in.... Texas! Aw, come on... you were doing so well for a while there. Let's try an easy one. Latin singer Selena Perez.....she was born in Texarkana. Now think carefully... you had this one before.... Can you guess where Texarkana is? Did you say Texas? Hey, that's good! You're back in the running. Now, Dwight D. Eisenhower was the 34th president of the United States. That's 2 behind Johnson. He was president during the 1950s and did a lot of good stuff during World War Two. You may have seen him on the History Channel. He's the bald guy but taller than Churchill. He was born in Denison. Know where Denison is located? It wouldn't be in Texas now, would it? It would? You're right. Oh, pardon me... You are correct! Well how do you like them apples? George H W Bush... the 41st President of the United States...the father of the guy you hate..... Guess where he was born? He was born in the town of Milton. Guess where Milton is located? No, you're wrong. Milton is in Massachusetts!!! Yes, the home of John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Michael Dukakis and Big Dan's Pool Hall (look it up, March,1983) Ok... now on a final note.....being that this prejudiced and bigoted heading was put twice in this weblist I do not want to hear a liberal ever say again that they are the most open, tolerant and diverse group of people. Your bias and misconceptions on this jaundiced weblist has proven, beyond any question, that your hypocrisy is bigger than all of Texas.

I'd like to start by sayin that labeling a person as a moron from where they live geographically is ignorant and my first example of how easy it is for bush to convince huge populations of people that what he's doing is right because of this exact ignorance. I'm not condoning his actions but showing the prevailing complacency of a lot of people in society today. Because of this complacency along with the inability to ask important questions and demand real answers, bush and others like him will continue to take advantage of that ignorance. Calling him a moron in the world of stupidity is actually quite a compliment, of course, anyone who embraces intelligence would probably know this. Yes, he makes selfish decisions and runs his campaigns with fear but to call him a moron is a bit delusional. I dislike him as much as the next rational person but my point is this, think about all the things he has done and I stress this part, GOTTEN AWAY WITH and tell me you think he's a moron. He's not a moron, he knows axactly what he's doing and huge populations of people agree with him and that is what scares the hell out of me. A moron, I don't think so. HardCor
