 | FranksWildYears (48) 11/23/2007 | I don't think he is being insincere by embracing religion in the wake of his former wild life. Furthermore, we should find some encouragement both in the fact that the voting public could accept someone who was able to turn themself around and acheive such high office (no pun intended) and that harmless indiscretions in one's past do not disqualify someone from entering politics anymore. The unrealistic expectation that people in public life have never done anything but go to school, go to church, pay their taxes and serve their country is a detriment to attracting good, qualified men and woment to public office.

 | Redoedo (39) 01/09/2005 | Perhaps the reason that he is no longer a drug addict is BECAUSE he found religion? Believe it or not, religion and God manage to see many people through very difficult times and eventually bring them back to their senses.

 | CastleBee (81) 01/06/2005 | Giving your life to Christ is actually one of the most intelligent moves a human being can make. Among many other things, it is proof that the person has the ability to humble him/herself nearly a lost art in todays world but still a valuable character trait. Often times declaring a faith is confused by those who are unable or unwilling to understand - with a crutch or a way to gain kudos. But, in reality, doing this is actually the antithesis of becoming popular. Becoming and declaring yourself a Christian is taking a very big chance that you will be made the butt of jokes, ridiculed and often not taken seriously. But, in the final analysis, I feel certain that its a chance very much worth taking.
