They are merely pawns in his evil schemes. The reason he may hate veterans so much is that they are brave and fought in Vietnam, while old George was a cowardly wus who hid in the National Guard.

There are certainly serious problems with the federal government's delivery of services to veterans, but I wouldn't say he treats them like dog waste. Interestingly enough, six new VA hospitals are opening in the Houston area over the next three years. Dog waste doesn't quite get that kind of service.

Oh, Jar Jar Bumwart, you really need to have your meds refilled. Maybe then you can at least attempt to get a grip. Speaking AS a veteran I can tell you I really want for nothing in those departments. I was able to attend college and receive my BA on the GI bill, after many years, I still use skills I learned while serving, I am eligible for health care at VA hospitals, VA home loans, and, if I were to accept a government position, would start out with 4 years seniority and 4 weeks vacation. Career service people can also retire WITH a pension at a relitively young age and pursue a second career as a civilian. The benefits for veterans are somewhat different today, but, they still have them and they still match or beat many options in private industry. I have my own issues with the military, but when it comes to benefits, if that's being treated like dog waste then pile it on.

that's b/c Bush wouldn't know the first thing about serving his nation during a war. his daddy saved him from doing that. he only knows how to put kids to death.

As idiotic as this item is, someone needs to set the record straight. By an enormous margin, the men and women currently serving in the military (and most veterans) are extremely supportive of President Bush, and morale is very high, in direct contrast with their lukewarm support (for 8 years) of former President Clinton, whom they tended not to trust. He actually was quoted as saying he loathed the military as a young man, a statement he never retracted or disavowed, even as President. Are there a few soldiers who vote for democrats? Sure. Do some pick up the idiotic talking points of the anti-war agenda unique to the liberal mindset? Sure. A few. Military personnel overwhelmingly believe in the cause of replacing a murderous despot with a democracy in Iraq, and in Afghanistan, they are dedicated to the success of that democracy also. You can't know unless you know several soldiers from different areas of the country. The American and European press boycott that side of the story. The only positive stories of the US Military you can find anywhere are about relief efforts related to the tsunami in the Indian Ocean. They are not ill-equipped, they do not lack proper training. They are an enormously successful fighting force. Hate Bush all you want but there is no reason to disparage the brave men and women who are risking their lives while you sit at your keyboard and spew things that are not true.

I have heard that a lot of the information regarding war wounded military personnel is being covered up lest the American public stop supporting the Iraq debacle. Most war veterans are conveniently overlooked once their duty's been done.

Bushs disregard for those he sends to war is incredible. They are ill equipped, underpaid, lack proper training for the situation and can expect little in return for their sacrifices except more empty lip service from our AWOL chickenhawk white house occupant.
