 | kamylienne (77) 11/01/2005 | Wouldn't know personally, but I think this stuff actually depletes your body's water rather than quenches thirst. The hangover in the morning is actually due to dehydration.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 11/01/2005 | Nothing is better on a hot day than to be in air-conditioning and have a large mug of, brewed on the spot, Indian Pale Ale.

 | dragonman (4) 09/20/2005 | Nothing refreshes like an ice cold beer on a hot summer day. Beer doesn't have enough alcohol in it to dehydrate the body. It only does that if you have too many.

 | Mad Hatter (37) 01/12/2005 | I like Margeritas and rum 'n' coke. Doesn't quench my thirst, but they are tasty.

 | CastleBee (81) 01/12/2005 | Cold beer tastes really good on very hot days. However, as most probably know, alcohol actually works against replenishing fluids and ends up dehydrating you.

 | AndrewScott (71) 01/09/2005 | Technically speaking, booze does the opposite. It's a diuretic, meaning it makes you urinate excessively, which will leave the drinker more dehydrated than if they drank nothing. If you've ever wondered what causes a hangover, it is severe dehydration of basic fluids. Chug a glass of water for each glass of booze you've drank (and give the keys to someone else), and life will be much better as you sober up.

 | irishgit (138) 01/08/2005 | As far as I'm concerned I drink alcohol because I enjoy it, not to quench my thirst, but there is something damn refreshing about a beer on a hot summer day.
