I feel they should call President's Day, Ineffective Leader's Day :PI think most presidents are horrible but I always want them to do well including Bush and Obama.

I don't mind celebrating Washington and some of the good presidents. There are some presidents that I'd as soon not celebrate. When I was a kid, Washington's Birthday was Feb. 22, and Lincoln's Birthday was Feb. 12. Bring 'em back!

Why is this so low on the list? We honor our veterans who have sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears for our country; shouldn't we honor the Presidents who have done so much for us as a nation? Shouldn't we honor Washington, who had he not been President, our nation probably would not have survived. Shouldn't we honor Jefferson, who made the Louisiana Purhase and doubled the size of the U.S. Jackson, who stood up for the rights of the people? Lincoln, who was instrumental in preserving the Union and ending slavery? Roosevelt who broke up the big business monopolies and fought for conservation. Wilson who led efficiently through WWI? Roosevelt who led us efficiently through WWII? Eisenhower who presided over a propserous nation? Kennedy, who averted a nuclear war with the Soviet Union? Reagan, who knocked the U.S.S.R out of business? Do these men not deserve recognition for THEIR sacrifices and contributions to America?

I do think that the U.S. Presidents do deserve a holiday for themselves. I don't have that day off, but hey, it's the thought that counts. An official poll this year came out of America's favorite presidents. #1 was Lincoln, good choice. Tied for 2nd is Bush (43) and Kennedy, reasonable enough, and in 4th and 5th places respectively are CLINTON and F.D.R. Every President there deserves their place on that list except Clinton. He got us into the war mess by not taking care of our obligations on the international front. He is not without his charms and Americans love that about him. The man could charm his way out of impeachment; is that why he deserves a place on the list of best presidents? I don't know, if you were to ask Clinton, he would probably say yes!! It's a sad truth. He has a very nonchalant attitude when it came down to the law. In fact, he spent most of his administration fighting against it. Yes, there was a conspiracy against him, Hillary was right about that, but the conspiracy came about as a result of the inability of the Clinton administration to say the truth for once in it's pitiful existence. He spent most of his time doing illegal things and fighting against alligations instead of doing his job, which was to protect our borders from foreign enemies. I know this is supposed to be about President's Day, but this kind of caught me in a rant!!

I would just like to make a list of the ones I would and would not like to celebrate...for my own peace of mind. Oh, just kidding. But isn't this the most benign holiday ever created? The only bad thing is I don't even get it as a paid day off! I hate that part.
