The only woman Bond really loved. His wife, should get better ratings.

She has the unique role of being the only Bond girl that James actually marries, and so she sort of doesn't even fit into the Bond girl category; all other Bond girls are merely conquests. Not surprising then, she will be accused by many as not really fitting the part. Unlike many of the later so-called strong Bond girls (Pam Bouvier, Jinx, etc.), She conveyed her strength without having to kick ass, talk tough or otherwise annoy the audience into submission (though she did do a bit mean driving to capture James's heart). It is too bad that she was across from one-timer Lazenby if only because I tend to feel like it was Lazenby who married her, not the real James; which steals a lot of the power from her position in the Bond pantheon.

Diana Rigg is a good stage actress, but with terrible luck/taste in movie roles, especially here. Not only is she wrong for the part, she's stuck with meat puppet George Lazenby as James Bond. In tems of equal opportunity, Diana Rigg was the first small breasted woman to be the female lead in a Bond role. But even after he's supposed to have fallen for her, Bond is seen romancing bouncier bimbos. The more things change...

Diana Rigg was clearly one of the better actresses to play a Bond Girl; however, there is just something about her that does not fit the part, notwithstanding the fact that her character (Tracy Draco) is strong female role. Diana Rigg was born in Doncaster, England on July 20, 1938.
