I REALLY WANTED TO GIVE THEM A MINUS 100, BUT ALL I CANDO HERE IS 1 STAR!!WILDBLUE IS SLOWER THAN MY 28,800 DIALUP AND DROPS OUTSEVERAL TIMES A MINUTE.IF THEY COULD FURNISH THEIR SLOW SPEEDS ON A FULL TIME BASISINSTEAD OF SWITCHING MY SERVICE OFF AND ON AROUND 12 TIMESWITHIN THE AVERAGE MINUTE, I WOULD NOT FEEL THEY HAVE BEENCHEATING ME SO BADLY AS THEY HAVE.THEY HAVE NO SERVICE AT ALL, AS MY INSTALLATION WAS NEVERCOMPLETED IN THE BEGINNING. THEY NEVER RETURN ANY PHONECALLS OR EMAILS EITHER.I HAD TO COMPLETE IT MYSELF BY PURCHASING A COMPLETESYSTEM THAT WORKED FROM SOMEONE ON EBAY.THE MODEM THEY INSTALLED HAD BEEN REPORTED AS HAVINGBEEN PREVIOUSLY SCRAPPED BY A DEALER.STEER AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDS. THEY NEVER HAVE LIVED UP TOTHEIR CONTRACT.HAVE A 2ND PHONE LINE PUT IN AND USE DIALUP AS I AM PLANNING TO DO.MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR THIS ALONE,DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH ON THE DOZEN OR MORE SITESWHERE OTHER PEOPLE TELL THEIR OWN HORROR STORIESABOUT THE DIS-FUNCTIONAL WILDBLUE SATELLITE INTERNETSYSTEM.GET A 2ND PHONE LINE AND USE DIALUP, IT WILL MAKE YOU MUCHHAPPIER WHEN YOU NEED TO USE THE INTERNET. I COULD NOTCANCEL MY DIALUP BECAUSE WILDBLUE IS SO POOR.WHEN WILDBLUE WORKS EVERY FEW DAYS, IT IS SOMETIMES 3 TO 4TIMES FASTER THAN MY DIALUP, BUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT I MUSTUSE MY DIALUP ISP JUST TO REACH WILDBLUE'S DISHMAIL TO GETMY EMAILS.IF YOU MUST TRY FOR YOURSELF, THINKING WE WHO COMPLAINARE NUT CASES, DO YOURSELF AT LEAST THE FAVOR OF KEEPINGYOUR DIALUP FOR YOUR EMAIL CONTACTS AND WHEN YOU THENDECIDE TO GET LEGAL GUIDANCE TO DUMP WILDBLUE YOU CANMAKE THE DECISION WITHOUT HAVING TO GO TO THE BOTHEROF CHANGING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT PLAYING ANY GAMES, BIDDING ON EBAYOR DOING YOUR BANKING ONLINE WITH WILDBLUE BECAUSE YOUWILL THEN LEARN ABOUT THE LATENCY ISSUES WHICH WILL MAKEYOU THINK YOU WON THAT IMPORTANT BID OR GAME OR HAVE TORE-SUBMIT YOUR BANKING TRANSACTION YOU THOUGHT YOU JUSTCOMPLETED.WILDBLUE WILL ALSO NOT TELL YOU THAT THERE IS A LIMIT ONA ROLLING 30 DAY SCHEME WHICH YOU WOULD VIOLATE IF YOUWERE EVEN ABLE TO WATCH A SINGLE MOVIE FROM A SERVICEWHICH TELLS YOU THIS CAN BE DONE. NOWHERE IN THEIR CONTRACT DO THEYPROMISE YOU WITH ACTUAL INTERNET SERVICE. WHEN THEIR ADSSAY UP TO 30 TIMES FASTER THAN DIALUP, YOU WILL SEE 3 TO 4TIMES FASTER THAN A 28,800 DIALUP, BUT REMEMBER THAT INTHEIR STATEMENT THEY SAY "UP TO 30 TIMES FASTER", THIS WILLBEGIN AT 0 TIMES FASTER AND OFTEN REMAIN AT ZERO FOR DAYSAT A TIME.I GOT MINE THROUGH DISH NETWORK BECAUSE I CAN WATCHTV EVEN IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH SELDOM ANY DROPOUTSOR IF THE STORM IS BAD ENOUGH, THE DROPOUT WILL EITHER BE A FROZEN PICTURE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS OR LESS OFTEN ASCREEN THAT SAYS YOUR SIGNAL WAS LOST. THIS SCREEN WILLSELDOM BE THERE FOR LONG ENOUGH TO LET YOU READ IT ANDTHE TV SIGNAL WILL RETURN. DISHNETWORK IS FANTASTIC!DISHNETWORK CAN DO NOTHING FOR ME ABOUT THE WILDBLUERIP OFF BECAUSE THEY ARE A DIFFERENT COMPANY. ANY CALLS OREMAILS TO WILDBLUE EITHER IGNORED AND UNANSWERED OR IFYOU GET TO SPEAK WITH A REAL WILDBLUE PERSON, THEY ARE MOSTEXPERT AT BEING RUDE AND TELLING YOU YOUR COMPUTER IS THEPROBLEM.SAVE PAYING YOUR ATTORNEY FEES AND GET A 2ND PHONE LINEAND KEEP YOUR SANITY.THANK YOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY

These guys SUCK. If you can get cell phone service you can get good Internet service too. There are many out there like Verizon or AT@T. They are cheaper and better. Wild Blue doesn't tell you that it isn't unlimited use. Once you exceed your download and up load limit you got squat. The installers never even showed up to install my dish and I was waiting all day long. They didn't call they didn't show so I sent the whole damn box of parts back to them. My best friend is the one that told me about them to begin with and she had nothing but problems with her dish. Her kid now uses it in the winter time for sledding and it doesn't even work right for that. If it rains either at your location or on Wild Blues end you got nothing. Heavy over cast you got nothing. Very unreliable.

While looking for the address to complain to the ceo of wildblue i came across this site, like your other readers our internet is useless also, down most of the time, slow, frustrating and costly considering how much time you can get online, the service stinks, you are passed from pillar to post trying to get help, considering how much they charge for a second rate sevice they should be able to afford another sattelite soon and when they do i hope i can load all the equipment on it and send it as far away as possible, my contract is up in a few months,, anyone want to buy new sattelite equipment pristine condition hardly used,,,,,, ps,, if you get this note it was pure luck!!!!!!

I could not wait till this spring when Wildblue started to take orders in our area. Like many others that look to satellite internet I live in an area with no option other than dialup. I knew before the install about the high latency and slow DL speeds but it had to be better that dialup. I had researched WildBlue and read all the reviews on this site regarding this service. Many of the reviews where bad but I was sure I would have better luck and signed up. Installation took some time, first they said that there was an equipment shortage that would cause a 6 week delay then the day before the install I received a call telling me the installer in my area quit and they would have to reschedule. When the new installer finally did arrive he informed me that because of trees he would have to install a pole (an extra cost of $175) I did not mind this and had even expected it but he insisted in planting the post in the middle of the yard rather that next to my existing TV dish he also informed the that he had to run the cables in the front of the house rather into the side as the TV dish cables were. Finally I convinced him to let me run the wires myself. Yes I ended up installing my own service! He was nice enough to let me borrow a drill bit. I will admit that for some time after the install I was quite happy. I lost connection whenever it rained or even on some very clouding days but for the most part the service worked as I had expected. Within a few months however, it seemed that my service was being dropped more and more often. My DL speeds were not that bad but upload was as low as 5 kbps. Finally the service was just about useless. This is when the nightmare truly began. I called Tech support and set up a service call. They use a company called DSI. The day before they were to arrive, DSI called me and informed me that there are no parts available and would not come to my home until they could get parts. Over the next few weeks I called Wildblue who referred me to DSI who referred me to Wildblue and so on and so on. I even told them that I would stop payment if they did not fix my service. I was told that I would be in breech of contract it I did. Almost two months after I totally lost service a tech called and set up an appointment. When he arrived he told me that he was amazed that I was without service for so long. He said that he had just noticed that my repair invoice had never been filled. He also informed me that there was NO equipment shortage. I guess the first guy did a pretty bad job at the first install too. The Pole even had to be reinstalled because the first guy used a cheap pole that had rusted trough and bend slightly in the wind. All well that ends well right? Wrong! With just a few weeks of usage after months of no service I noticed my DL speed is only 130 kbps I called and was informed that I downloaded to much the last few weeks and violated their fare usage policy. With all the time offline and all the virus updates and new software updates I had to download to get my computer up to date and with all the emails I downloaded to get caught up I had went over their usage limit. I will admit I downloaded a few other things too but it seems that they are rubbing salt in the wounds. You would think that I would be really upset with Wildblue right now. It funny but I am more upset with myself. I read all the reviews on this site. I knew how bad their service was, but I naively ordered their service anyway thinking that my experience would somehow be better. If you have to go with Satellite do your homework. I have to believe that there is someone better out there than Wildblue.
