Amazingly enough I actually got to watch this for a seminar on court room testimony. Who knew comedy could also teach.

One of the funniest ever! Marisa Tomei was outstanding along with Pesci.

Better than I expected. A little Pesci goes a long way for me. He was surprisingly enjoyable as the Brooklyn third-rate lawyer trapped in the South and trying to defend himself. Marissa Tomei is excellent as always. Definitely worth a rental.

I was slightly disappointed after watching this movie, I felt like it could of been a lot funnier. Joe Pesci as a lawyer just sounds hysterical, and although it was funny, given the plot of the movie, a lot more jokes could have been made to just put it to the next level.

One of the few cinematic comedies in recent years that's actually very funny. Joe Pesci, as always, is excellent. He's equally good whether playing would-be lawyers, frustrated brothers, Presidential assassins, or mob hitmen. An actor who can alternate between intense drama and engaging comedy with a seemingly facile ease certainly has my respect. I had never really seen Marisa Tomei in anything before and she was a revelation; a good comedic actress and extremely sexy too. Needless to say, veteran actors Fred Gwynne and Lane Smith give their usual superlative performances. "My Cousin Vinny" proves that a comedy movie doesn't have to resort to pee-pee-caa-caa jokes or specious "humor" of the "I'm not gay, really, I'm not, even though what I'm doing looks gay" variety to be funny or entertaining.

Very few movies have me laughing aloud . this one did . Central casting could not have chosen any of the actors any better. Like to see more like this one but am afraid the sex and explosions crowd wouldn't back me up.

Was younger when I saw it but I remember this movie being one of my first lessons in the cultural differences between north and south in which they portrayed both personas hystericaly.

This was hilarious, and in some respects realistic as some of the best attorneys didn't shine in law school.

Oddly appealing, and good enough to watch over again. Fred Gwynn is great, and Joe Pesci is very funny.

Though I'm old school with my comedies, this recent one was pretty funny. Joe Pesci was hilarious as the Brooklyn shyster who struggled with enunciating words like Youths (came out as Utes). Marisa Tomei was pretty funny and even won an Oscar (though Urban Legend says that Jack Palance called her name out as a joke). The late Fred Gwynn (Herman Munster) was also great. For those who don't know, Gwynn was a very versatile actor, and an accomplished artist.

funny movie. Joe pesci and Marisa tomei are both great in their roles. vinny is a brand new lawyer who comes down south to defend a cousin who wrongly got arrested for murder. he brings his girlfriend Lisa with him.Vinny and Lisa are from Brooklyn NewYork, and are fish out of water down south in Alabama. Fred Gwynne is good as the hard care southerner judge who shows a lot of contempt for Vinny. A lot of real funny scenes.

Funny, funny movie. Marisa Tomei was great in this movie. But who else but Joe Pesci can go from the murderous gangsters in Casino and Goodfellas to to the Brooklynite lawyer in My Cousin Vinnie and never miss a beat. Gotta give him credit.

One of the best comedies I've seen in a long time. Pesci is great, but my hat is really off to Marisa Tomei. The New York/Brooklyn accents are superb, and just what is called for in this movie. It is great to watch Fred Gwynne doing something other than Herman Munster - and he does it very well indeed. Grits? What is a grit? is only one of the tremendous lines in this movie. I agree with LanceR abut the porch scene being hilarious. Another favorite of mine is Marisa Tomei talking about the poor little dee-uh. If you have not yet seen this movie, rent the video or DVD and watch it. Guaranteed to brighten your day if you're feeling down.

2 breakfasts please! LOL Da two yutes... The what? 'Da two yutes'.. did you say yutes? 'sorry your honor the two yoouuuthhzzzzz! This movie was cute and funny from start to finish. The scene on the porch of the cabin between Joe Peci' and Marisa Tomei was hysterical... as was the scene when his suit gets ruined and he has to walk into court wearing a ridiculous suit from the mid 1800's that he got at a second hand store. Im laughing just thinking about it.

Released in 1992 and directed by Jonathan Lynn, My Cousin Vinny is a benign, well written fish out of water, courtroom comedy. The story begins with the arrest of two young Yankees (Ralph Macchio and Mitchell Whitfield) in the Deep South and their being charged with murder. One has a cousin who just passed the bar so Vincent La Guardia Gambino (Joe Pesci) and his girlfriend Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei) drive down from New York City to defend the two boys. During the defense, Gambino must deal with the prosecutor (Lane Smith), the hostilities of the judge (Fred Gwynne), the obvious culture clashes, and his inexperience as a trial attorney. As there is nothing innovative about this film, what makes it work is the aura and acting of the three main players, namely Pesci, Tomei and Gwynne. While the movie does rely on stereotypes, both Northern and Southern, they are not overly burdensome. The bottom line is that My Cousin Vinny is a typical fish out of water film which is above average due to the on-screen talent.

Great movie. Marissa Tomei and Joe Pesci did a great job and Fred Gwynne was a good choice for the judge. Good paradoy of the city slickers in a small southern town, without exploting, insulting stereotypes of the South.

What a funny concept. A New York City boy way out in the boonies, sporting his "hey yo" attitude in a conservative southern courtroom. Tons of laughs on both the city and country sides. If you haven't seen it, you should.

Fred Gwynee of the legendary TV-G comedy series, "The Munsters" was in this piece of useless junk? Forget it. R is another underrate and it is NOT funny. Go see Ice Age, Pokemon4Ever or Star Trek: Nemesis instead.

Best legal comedy ever! Two scenes come to mind imediately when you mention this film to me. Scene one: in the cafe, Vinny picks up the menu. Shows the menu to his girlfriend: 'so what do you think, breakfast?' 'Breakfast sounds good.' Then they show you the menu, with three things on it; breakfast, lunch, dinner. Scene two: in the court room, Vinny is crossing a witness. 'Isn't it possible that the two yout's...' 'Say what?' 'Excuse me your honor' 'What was that word?' 'What?' 'Did you say youts?' 'Yeah.' 'What is a yout?' 'Oh, pardon me your honor, two youthssssss.'

Alright, the language is terible. That said, the film is pretty funny, and we do get to see Vinny "find himself." Marisa Tomei is beautiful and funny and Joe Pesci will have you laughing aloud.

The best comedy! I laughed until my sides split! Joe Pesci is such a wonderful actor. How could anyone who's brain is mostly intact not like this movie? Whoever thought up the character of Vinny was a true genius. I hope to see this again, maybe I'll rent it this weekend. People, if you are feeling down, this is the perfect movie to watch! You will laugh till you are exhausted! This is a fun, hilarious movie! (The way they make fun of all the rednecky accents is fun-ny!) Anyone who hasn't seen this terrific movie, SEE IT!
