Just an update to my previous post. Still no responses from Betty around my audit and its been months. Hopefully she is not in business anymore for everyones sake. I truly can't believe the situation I am in because of going to what I supposedly thought was a professional. Do not use this service! Thats all I ask.

IF I could subtract stars, I would. I don't know why betty would comment on this website. Everyone knows it's you Betty disguising yourself with a real original name-bettyboop2. You're not fooling anyone with that clever name, but did a good job fooling us into signing your prepared tax returns. Don't come onto this site with that nonsense saying "you need ask the preparer for help." You don't answer your phone or emails. Your help is worth about two dead flies. Also, your earlier comment about your attorney requesting information from this website because of "slanderous statements" kind of made me laugh. Have you had any luck? Just so you know, slander means a false spoken statement to damage ones reputation. The comments on this website couldn't be more truthful. I must admit, you do a good job at manipulating people. If you decide to come on to this site and comment again, can you please let us know if you are even qualified to prepare taxes for people. I have a feeling you might be a con artist. You have made life pretty miserable when it comes to my families finances this year. Each year that you messed our returns up, we have been audited. I know it's our fault for signing, but you should be begging for forgiveness from these people, not wasting your time writing nonsense to defend yourself. You know deep down inside that what you did was wrong. You can expect a phone call from Tom Martino or maybe a visit....oh wait, you don't answer your phone and when I have tried many times to stop at your office your not there. Maybe you already skipped town. I give your business a year at most before it goes down, because what goes around comes around.

Trying to figure out why people would post trash on this site. Seems it is to try to hurt businesses. If they were audited, why did they not call the preparer for help. Why did they not use their appeal rights. There are thousands of mail in audits going on across the country as well as face to face audits. Your appeal rights are always there. Don't bash the preparer if you did not give them an opportunity to help you.

I must admit that looking through all these reviews makes me feel so much better...We are NOT the only people out there who blindly signed their name to a bull*hit tax return. All the other reviews match our story exactly. Our first appointment there was for our 2005 prep. We showed up at her dingy, cluttered office on time. She made us wait about 1 hour. We were so mad by the time we got in there. Betty made it all better though as she was telling us how we can deduct our clothes we buy for work (not uniforms, regular clothes), one vacation/year, etc. Basically according to her we could deduct almost anything. When we questioned anything she looked at us like we were morons. We walked out of there so happy, after being told we would be receiving about $4,000.00! Biggest tax return we had ever had by far! The next year we had moved out of state and did the return by mail. What a huge hassle. As others have stated, she is next to impossible to get on the phone or by email. After waiting forever to receive our return back, it had several mistakes that we caught. We sent it back to her, she corrected them. This time she had us getting over $6,000.00! So again we were fine with good 'ole Betty. Finally when it came time for 2007 we decided to go to a CPA in our own state. Goodbye Betty (or so we thought). As he was looking over our prior year he tells us "You probably won't get audited but if you do..." We were so surprised by what he went on to tell us. He asked us if we had a receipt for our $5,000 donation to Goodwill. What?! Apparently Betty took our $250.00 donation we said we made and turned it into $5,000.00. We also made about $2,000.00 in donations to a few other charities according to her. Anyway, guess who got a letter from the IRS about a month ago? That's right! We did! We are being audited for 2006. They wanted over $4,000.00 with penalties & late fees. Betty vanished into thin air once we told her. Of course she made us think she was going to help, but she never did. So, we gathered up what we could prove and now we owe $3,000.00. We feel so stupid for just signing her returns and barely looking them over. We trusted her. It is a shame that people like her are out there screwing people over every day. Telling them what they want to hear. DO NOT USE EURIOSTE ACCOUNTING. You know the saying, If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I am being audited as well. I feel betrayed and I don't know why Betty would do this. We all want some money back at the end of the year but not if it means audits in the long run. I would rather be honest initially, get a normal refund, and state exactly what is what than suffer later and have to pay compounded interest on money that was never mine to begin with. I remember sitting down with Betty and showing her my calculations regarding my taxes to be filed. I have meager earnings and I would say, a pretty easy tax return to file, nothing to complex. She would punch on her calculator then look up and tell me some exaggerated number and insist with her face, eyes, body language, even to my refusal that the number she just came up with is what I "should" claim. She would just stare at me like I was stupid if I argued with her. I just naively give into what she was saying. Thinking to myself I guess she knows what she's doing if she's a CPA and has been in business for so long.....my gut told me something wasn't right.....Lesson #1 If your gut tells you it is wrong, follow your gut.BUT is she really a CPA? Has anyone seen any credentials? Her folders don't have CPA written on it nor does her business cards. Are there standards in Colorado for people posing to do taxes? I guess that was another mistake I made. Lesson #2 check credentials.I too know what you all are talking about. She is ridiculously hard to get ahold of. You can never leave a message because the answering machine is full and good luck stopping by the ( I know it was mentioned before) disorganized office, no-one is there. Lesson #3 If you can't get ahold of your accountant and she never ever calls you back EVER. That is a definite problem. On that note I called her on and off for weeks (actually left a message a couple times with a person) so I could ask some tax type questions about write offs. I was reassured that some one would call me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK EVER, talk about frustrating. And again I'm really dumb for going back.BEWARE -- Live and Learn from other people's mistakes. If you go to this woman you will have years of stress and audits to look forward to. If you do get audited she and the people in her office will reassure you that everything is okay and there's nothing to worry about but I'm pretty sure I'll be writing a check out to the IRS. I'm gonna have to pay another CPA to re-look over all my stuff and I will end up going through the other person to resolve my issues with the IRS audit. Lesson #4 IF YOU SEE ANYTHING ON THE TAX RETURN THAT YOU DON'T AGREE WITH, DON'T SIGN IT. In the end it's all on you.

I too was audited. I called her work and cell phone and both of her voice mailboxes were full! I can't even leave a message. This lady is shady!

If I had the choice to select ZERO stars, I would.Husband and I went to her for 2 years. The office was disorganized, and there was paperwork everywhere, but we thought nothing of it at the time. We were encouraged to make deductions that we were unsure of, but were reassured that everything was fine. They did not want to see reciepts, and said that estimates were fine. About 8 months ago, we were audited for BOTH years! They wanted all the money back with penalties (more than $3000) and interest (almost $600). Betty was helpful at first, meeting with us, collecting the paperwork we had, and also told us what we needed to bring to meet with the auditor, and what to expect. A few weeks (and more interest) later, we met with an auditor, but Betty didnt bring our original documents that we had provided to her just a few weeks earlier. Imagine our frusturation, and the auditor's frusturation. After the initial meeting, betty still couldnt locate our important original documents (HUD1, W2, Paycheck stubs, prior year tax return, etc) that we had provided to her. Since then, i've been to the office 4 times and she always has an excuse of why the documents are not in her posession. My guess is, she has lost them. Now not only can I not dispute some of the legitimate claims made because she has lost some documentation, but I also now am worried about identity theft. It's been 8 months later, and this still is not resolved. Please, please do not waste your time, money, and effort. It is not worth the return you get.

Our experience with Betty was not pleasant. We were uncertain about the types of deductions that she decided that we needed to put on our return despite my husbands bad feelings. We trusted that she knew what she was doing. We got a great refund! However, within months, we recieved an audit letter from the IRS stating that we owed all that money back and more in interest! We took it to her and she said they were wrong and that we should fight it with her help. We tried to find all the things she told us to and she said she had some extra receipts we could use as well. As our deadline got closer, it became impossible to get a hold of her. We left voicemail messages, and messages with her employees, but she never called us back. We even stopped by and the office was locked up tight. We met with the auditor and gave him what we had, but we still ended up owing quite a bit. The old advice still stands, if it's too good to be true, it probably is..

My wife and I went to Betty for the first time this year, 2007. We were referred to her from some people my wife worked with. After she did our taxes we were surprised to see our return, it was much larger than the years before. People I worked with still use the other person we used in the past and they stayed the same. We are worried about being audited but it is too late now, I read ONE other review about Betty and it said she did not help them when they got audited. They owed back $540.00. That is not bad if they got much more than that from the beginning. I will keep this website informed if we get audited.
