The Merchant of Venice - William Shakespeare 4

No doubt that this play is anti-Semitic, however, one must be aware of one passage in the play where Shylock (paraphrasing here) says that Jews are just as human as Christians; they bleed the same blood, drink the same water, and feel cheated for being wronged. Perhaps Shakespeare wasn't entirely anti-Semitic.

The Merchant of Venice - William Shakespeare 1

It's a slow paced play that's based on a bet in which a person has to give a pound of his flesh. It portrays Jews as hungry, conniving, evil, greedy people.
