North Dallas Forty is a movie that was made in the 70's that was basically the same as this movie. North Dallas Forty is tens times better than this crappy movie. First it just wasnt believeable. Al Pacino is a great actor, but he's miscast as a Football coach. Jamie Foxx's character is on the bench eating potato chips when he gets called into the game? C'mon. A player gets his eyeball knocked out during a tackle towards the end. This just wasnt clicking with me. I think there was a message to be made, but it wasnt done well enough. Seeing Elizabeth Berkeley as Pacino's hooker/girlfriend was nice and the Football scenes were handled well though. Cameron Diaz was good in it as well.

we got free tickets to the premiere showing . after watching this lonnng movie in a very crowded theater and its not even that good was torture. i could have waited for it to come out on video

A strong performance from most of the cast is capped by Pacino in the lead role. Well done football sequences, and a competent script. Tends to get a little preachy at times. A sparkling performance by Woods as the sleazy team doctor.

Good action and demented ding-dongs under the helmets. Authentic!
