This, to me, is an overrated movie. Don't get me wrong. It's an ok movie itself, but to say that it is one of the all time greats is overrated. I like the movie all the way up to when they visit Fenway Park. Then it gets boring for me.

A dreamer's movie, but really a good movie. I remember when I first saw it and thought it was corny. I didnt get it until I saw it again much later. It was really appropriate that Costner and his wife's character were from Cal-Berkeley when I saw it again. This movie works because it captures the dreams and simple nature of Life via Baseball, a Sport that is much a metaphor for Life. It's a movie about second chances and believing in what you want to believe in, even when others doubt you. That's part of what Baseball is all about.

Greatest sports movie of all time. I can't help but cry at the end when Costner asks his father to have a catch. You see I couldn't have a catch with my father as he was disabled. The AFI missed out on this movie by not honoring it by puting it in the top 100 of all time too. A big mistake.

Don't you people have any heart? It's about fixing relationships with your bum, absentee fathers! Not just a terrific baseball movie, it's a modern fairy tale that exemplifies hope and passion in a world where many people give up their dreams. Ask any guy from a divorced family- he probably tears up at the end of the movie.

Absolutely stupid premise. Normally, the idea of something appearing out of the past would draw my attention. But they never explain anything - why there, why to this family and for what ultimate reason???!!! Therefore it not only made absolutely no sense but it put me to sleep in the process. Then again, so does Kevin Costner. One extra star for Ray Liotta - who cancels out a large portion of Kevin's blandness.

I have very personal reasons for liking this movie, and I won't share them here, but I think it is one of the most evocative movies about the love of baseball ever made.

One of my favorite movies, sports or not. They did a great job staying close to the book, but making changes where they were needed for the transition to film.

I was actually in Fenway Park the day they filmed the sequence there. Quite an experience. It was during an actual game!

It was actually my favorite sports movie of all time. I think it is much better then Caddy Shack. It was a very sad movie and the best thing was you didnt even have to be a fan to like it.

One of my favorite baseball films, the ending is very sad.

This was a weird movie. Don't see why so many people like it.
