My husband made me watch this, but I'm glad he did, great movie! Inspiring, funny, and very entertaining. You don't have to be a hockey fan to enjoy this movie.

Russell Crowe vehicle before he was MR. Russell Crowe. A town team that plays on a lake in Alaska has a chance to play the New York Rangers.

A lot of fun, if not the most intelligent movie ever made. Crowe is solid, and the rest of the cast is at least competent.

A little known and underrated hockey movie. The cast is superb including Russell Crowe, Burt Reynolds, Lolita Davidovich, Colm Meaney, Hank Azaria, and Mike Myers (cameo appearence). The film blends warm comedy with surprisingly decent drama and the actors give excellent performances all around. Burt Reynolds is superb in this film. This is the story of a little town in Alaska called Mystery where the populace is obsessed with hockey. There are plenty of plots and subplots going on in town, and this could make an excellent tv show if done properly. I've watched this movie several times and enjoy it every time. I can't believe this movie got an r rating; they use some bad language but nothing outrageous.
