The best hockey film ever made!!!  Filmed in Johnstown, a small steel town in Pennsylvania.  The movie is modeled after a real minor league team that played there called the Jets. 

I agree the sequel is terrible.  I hear that they are filming a third version but they are doing so in Canada...

Nothing will ever compare to this...It has got to be one of the top 5 sports movies of all time!

Such a good movie that it has actually influenced the game and its players itself. How many other movies can say the same???

A hilarious movie about minor league hockey. Very authentic dialogue. (translate that as more profanity than you can shake a hockey stick at)

This is a movie that always tickles my funny bone. Paul Newman is an over the hill hockey player who is also coach of a minor league losing hockey team. The team operates on a shoe-string and the manager of the team, played by Strother Martin picks up three goons, the Hanson brothers. Eventually Newman sends the Hansons in to play and they wreck havoc on the opposition. The losing team starts to win! There's lots of other fun stuff but you gotta see it for yourself. (Whenever I get a snoot full at our local hockey games, and the team is losing, I start yelling for the Hansons to come in until Martha shuts me up!)

Quite possibly the best hockey movie ever made, and definately the funniest. Me and some of my friends have had the habit of going into a chant of Old time hockey! whenever we see somebody get into some roughhousing, if it has anything to do with hockey or not.

Violence. Booze. Paul Newman sleeping with a bisexual ex-wife of an opposing player. An announcer with a toupee. Vintage 70's un-PC filmmaking: Better give your kid a haircut before he turns into a f#ggot! If you like raunchy humor in sports, give it a shot. . .but it's not for everyone. Another classic- They bought their toys!

It is one of the funniest movies I've seen, sports or non-sports. One of my favorite Paul Newman movies. Just thinking about the Hanson triplets makes me want to laugh so hard that I would spit coke all over my monitor and keyboard. When the announcer growls Now this is hockey while everyone is brawling, is hilarious, though it seems largely prophetic as the NHL excessive goonery has chased the casual fan away. Old Time Hockey. Eddie Shore, eh. Klassic!!!

I don't think there is another human being that wants to play on the Chiefs more then me. By far the best hockey movie of all time, one of the best sports movies of all time.

Funny movie, full of profanity, violence, hockey, nudity, and more hockey! The sequel sucks.

Very Excellent

This movie is very funny if you're not a hockey fan and totally hilarious if you are. I finally saw this recently and laughed my ass off. This film is a must see and lived up to the hype.
