Beer Taster 08/02/2009
This is the nastiest crap I have ever come across. It kind of reminds me of that taste you get when you throw up in your mouth. I feel like i'm taking crazy pills. How could this piss in a bottle get such good reviews????

In my opinion, Tsingtao is nothing mind-blowing, though it is a solid good-quality beer. I think that the reason I do not like it more is because it is a pilsner. It is crisp and refreshing, but I am just not big on pilsners. As far as Asian beers go, I prefer Asahi (which is Japanese).

Tsingtao always goes good with Kung Poa.
Doctor of Madness 02/12/2009
Good with our version of Chinese food. Otherwise there is no reason to drink it.
irishgit 02/12/2009
German lager, made in China. Better than any of the American big brewery lagers, but no better than average as a beer.

Good with Sweet and Sour Pork...

I THINK OVER ALL THE BEER IS PRETTY GOOD. IT TASTE LIKE A GERMAEN BEER TO ME. TRY IT...YOU JUST MIGHT LIKE IT :)

Again never had it

Never even heard of it...

Good stuff if you are eating chinese food.

Never tried it.
Automatt 02/11/2008
Not a bad beer for China
CzechMate 02/08/2008
Interesting flavor, light in nature beer.
Spike65 01/21/2008
Comparible to American macro-brewed products like Bud, etc. but with a little more character. A good enough choice with Chinese food if the choices are limited. A bit watery.
GenghisTheHun 12/17/2007
This is a malty beer that the Germans transplanted into China. Tsingtao was once a German colony before WWI.
fb646481885 11/22/2007
Garbage, like everything else from China.
EternalLove 11/15/2007
A great Japanese import!
sperryc 11/14/2007
on my list of far-east beers, Tsingtao ranks below Tiger and Soporro.

I agree with magu. It is a good beer but I usually drink something else
jsthornton 01/21/2007
Every time i have chinese food, i have tsingtao, the two are inseparable for me. The beer is a fair example of a germanesque lager, nothing extra-ordinary, but well made nontheless.
MrSalty 01/16/2007
Insipid adjunct-laden Chinese pale lager. This doesn't even aim to be good beer.
GreggOrange 01/15/2007
I love this stuff. Very well balanced taste that goes great with food. Has a slightly sticky, ricey sweetness that I really enjoy. Very distinct and characteristic brew. Where's the pepper steak?
Ih8rateitall 03/10/2006
EH, I never heard of this beer EH? You dudes should try a nice, frosty budweiser.
Drummond 02/03/2006
Very light. Good with Asian food.
SZinHonshu 08/31/2005
A good clean, crisp tase with no after taste. Served at lots of real deal Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley section of Southern California (which has a considerable mainland Chinese population).
dragonman 06/15/2005
Best of the chinese beers, has a nice malty sweetness and not over carbonated. This beer was fist brewed by Germans living in China, the style is that of a pilsner. The alcohol level is that of a light beer but it's not a light beer so it loses a star.
hotel283 06/24/2004
The beer is okay. But if you ever get to Tsingtao take the tour of the brewery. It's incredible, the highlight being watching 156 yr old Chinese delivery men strap fifty cases to their rickety little bikes and ride away.....
Guava Monkey 04/02/2004
Goes well nicely with Chinese food. I'd rather have this than the big brand lagers.
BeanoCook 02/15/2004
Good beer made in the mold of a German pilsner.
Moosekarloff 06/05/2003
Nothing dramatic about this beer: just a nice, solid drinkable product, but not at all earthshattering.
beershrine 05/08/2003
The only Place I would or can order this one is a chinese resturant. Served to cold and mostly tastes like water!
CanadaSucks 04/21/2003
It's good. . .but it's a great beer to start a conversation with a smart girl who you want to impress with your travel stories. . .
dane 04/21/2003
The only reason I ever drink this garbage is because I love ordering it. When this Chinese beer is pronounced correctly you're saying something nasty in Spanish.
MileHiJP 06/19/2001
ugggh I can't believe Tsingtao is rated this high. I can almost swear they put formaldahide in it for the bitterness.
Beach Bum 06/09/2001
As much as I love the Northern European beers (Grolsh, Urquell, and Stella), and as much as I love the American specialities (like Sam Adams, and Sierra Nevada), I've got to hand it to the Chinese that they did things right with Tsingtao
Jesica's Sun 05/28/2001
Yeah baby, yeah!
Miami Boy 05/28/2001
Extremely tastey and rich!
Captain Lou 05/25/2001
This is truly one of the world's best beers - try it if you can, it's a wonderful experience - strong texture and a proper level of alcohol content
nasha 05/14/2001
Like Dos Equis, this beer is based on a German recipe (German immigrants usually build a church and a brewery as their first contirubition to a new land) For me, it comes out as a winner. Anybody know the *correct* pronunciation? Tsing-tao, Ching-doa?
camerracht 04/27/2001
Not bad! Although, I had trouble with the food, the beer had to taste good! Better than green tea all the time.
