It really shouldn't make any difference but sometimes, with some people, politics is like religion and there is no compromise. If that's the case maybe it's better to cut them loose or be cut loose, whichever comes first.

This is a complex issue because often, it's not just the politics, but the philosophy that drives the political opinions. See, if you do believe in gay marriage and abortion and they don't, very often you will have different philosophys on how lift should be lived. That would be a good reason to dump a date because if the big stuff isn't compatible, a relationship is a lot harder than it should be.

I don't really care if someone has a different stance than I do as long as they don't try to force ideas on me. Politics aren't all that great for the success of a relationship anyway; some things just shouldn't be talked about very often, and this is probably one of them...
