I liked Stallone in the Rocky's and at least the first Rambo. I think he was perfect for those parts. I own all the Rocky's and never get tired of watching them. Maybe it's the nice bod, I dunno. :)

Well, he's not as bad as say Van Damme, Seagal, and people of that ilk. He was good in the first "Rocky" film, though I actually think supporting actors Burgess Meredith and Carl Weathers were even better, and the underrated character actor Burt Young really stole the show in that. "First Blood" was all right, but the subsequent Rambo films were pretty stupid in my opinion. Virtually everything else he did was pretty bad though, though he was fairly decent in "Copland."

I thought he did a high quality job in "Rocky".However,he was typecast and put in flick after flick of mindless action crap.It depends on the script,I guess.

When he does a good film, such as Rocky, he does a good film. However... when he is a bad film, he is in a really bad film. Please.... no more Rocky and Rambo sequels.... Thanks.

He's done some but not much good stuff. The first Rocky and Rambo were good.

He's always been an entertaining guy. He may have been overpromoted, but I don't think he was overrated in the sense that anyone ever took him as being a serious actor. I don't think he honestly rates his own acting ability as all that great.

I don't think so really. He has exhibited some depth along the way - mostly IMO in the first Rocky film. But he seems content and at his best being a top rated action star. He doesn't appear to be living under the illusion that he's Olivier or Gielgud.

I don't think Stallone is overrated. He did a great job as Rocky Balboa in the original Rocky. I agree there should have been no sequels, but no one can blame him for making more money, especially when so many in the public wanted Rocky sequels. He proved he can act in Copland and won my respect in that role.

His Nautilus machine can act better than he can. It can probably write and direct better too. A talentless, arrogant hack.

I think Stallone delivers what's expected of him. Fact is, he's not rated very high at all any more. His last several movies have been promoted (based on TV trailers I saw) WITHOUT Sly's presense being hyped. Eye See You, Driven, and Spy Kids 3 all featured Stallone but you'd never know it based on the tv ads. Honestly, I think he's getting shafted lately. I like Stallone and would like to see him doing more roles in a supporting cast context.
