I missed this Stephen King trash at the bijou and only caught it on cable. It must have been the pale ales that I was quaffing at the time. This scene raised a hopeful note for me knowing that the flick was ready to expire.

Cried like a newborn, my friends! Not ashamed to say it..

You just kept hoping they wouldn't do it, that something good would happen...to prevent the execution. I have to admit, I was crying at the end of this scene.

I also read the book too and I didnt cry when John was executed. But as soon as the scene came up in the film and you saw the guards so reluctant to kill him that was it....tears were rolling down my cheeks!! And Tom Hanks crying for him too.....gut wrenching!!

Even though I read the book beforehand, I was still somehow hoping that they would spare his life in the movie. I was more frustrated than anything, since John was only trying to help -- he didn't kill those girls. Another tearjerking part of the movie is when the Frenchman is executed so terribly, thanks to Percy.

Underrated emotional moment. . .I had to turn my face away from my date. I also scored some sensitive-guy-points for it. . .so its a damn good movie.

I've never seen the movie, but I have read the book. I thought many other parts of the book were more emotional, like that French guy's execution.

Holy Jesus. Man, that was unbearably sad. That was so incredibly, tremendously, immensely, extroadinarily sad that I had to change my shirt the thing was so wet from my tears. Jesus.

It didn't make me feel any better when he asked to be executed without the mask because he was afraid of the dark.

This scene moved me just as much as the book did. Michael Clarke Duncan did such a fantastic job bringing Coffey to life that it breaks your heart when he meets his demise. I was so attached to his character by the end of the movie that the tears came in buckets.

Never have I cried so much over a movie in my entire life. The ending to this film was so moving, almost phenomenally so. Rarely does a movie choke me up, but between the fine acting, the brilliant writing, and the overall emotion, the ending to this film is definately one of the most moving.
