When Tom Hanks Loses "Wilson the Ball" in "Cast Away"

i dont belive i actually cried when i watched it

If by moving, you mean my lunch wanting to be moved up my esophagus, this scene did pretty well.

Wilson was his only friend when he was on the island.

WILSON!!! Come back WILSON!!! I actually thought that it was pretty funny that he was upset over a volleyball, but I suppose when you're stranded on an island, it's the best kind of company.

When I watched that scene....I actually cried out Oh no....WINSTON!! yeah it was sad cos he was so distraught about losing his compainion....but to be honest all I could do was laugh! But I still think it was a sad moment!!

It just shouldn't be sad, for God's sake, it's a ball! But for that reason, the fact that he shouldn't be so distraught at the loss, it's unbearably sad to see his pain. That, and he's held up so well under all this adversity, only to lose his only companion when they're just about to be rescued; it's just so heartwrenching. Tom Hanks is an excellent actor as well.

Kind of scary how someone is in love with a ball.

I'm glad he lost it. I was getting worried with he getting a little too attached to the ball. I was afraid once he got off the island, he would divorce his wife, and marry Wilson. Fox would have considered a reality show out of it.

Yikes, was this movie terrible! No imagination, no creativity, and most of all, nothing positive. Worth a laugh, this moment is, but nothing more.

I have to admit, I got a bit choked up when Tom Hanks watches Wilson the volley ball float off in Castaway. Knowing that this ball helped him keep his sanity,by having something to talk to' As odd as it sounds, if someone watched the movie it would help explain why he was so upset when the ball floated off.
