I haven't thought of it since I saw it on this list. Even though Chuck is a little embarrassing today- this is still a poignant moment in a famous film. It still resonates even though the film is wildly over-acted. Of course, the chariot race is still the best 15 minutes of film ever.

This was particularly hair-raising for me, but the reason is because it was the first movie I ever saw. I was just a kid, and we watched it at a drive-in theatre with a huge screen. It was thrilling and chilling and exhilarating all at the same time.

Yup. This scene gets me every time. Helped along by Miklos Rozsa, the greatest master of them all.

One of the most magnificently understated scenes ever filmed. And that background music sends chills up my spine every time. I never get tired of it.
