Based on an excellent Larry McMurtry book. Great cast with Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall. It followed the book very well and overall it was a great pleasure to watch. Very high production values too. Best Western mini-series ever. Maybe one of the top five films of the genre.

Martha tried to make me watch this when it was first on the tube, but I was too stubborn and wouldn't do it. Then I finally watched it when it came out on VHS and realized what I had missed. It was a first rate Western, even if you excise the Larry McMurtry lefto horsesh*t!
