As a moderate fan of the Scifi genre I expected great things from this program. Unfortunately it was too slow and too long with way too much intent gazing by most of the key actors. Dakota Fanning was the one bright spot in this big budget hohummer. She was great.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series (have it on DVD).  And what a great cast!  I agree with Imorovan ~ in the 60 odd years that this story covered, there was continuity and consistency.  Little Dakota Fanning ~ what a great job she did!!

The best mini-series ever made for TV in my opinion. Yes, even better than Roots. It works as a period piece, as adventure, as drama, and as one of the few good sci-fi series ever. Great acting especially in the earlier installments. First rate.
