 | oscargamblesfro (80) 12/13/2006 | "Freedom" makes this foolishness look like "The White Album" PLUS "Revolver." One of his biggest solo hits, but a simply lousy tune with a disco bassline. "Silly" is apt. 1.5 stars.

 | VirileVagabond (36) 11/19/2003 | Released in 1976 on the full-length Wings At The Speed Of Sound, Silly Love Songs is one of those guilty pleasures from McCartney (though credited to Wings). Though the rolling bass and injection of horns adds flair, the lyrics and overall single would be rather weak if it was recorded by anyone else, yet Paul is able to pull off the song in spades. Nevertheless other artists have taken their shots, including Stevie B., the Replicants, the Brotherhood Of Man, and Red House Painters. Silly Love Songs charted in the U.S. for 15 weeks in 1976, peaking at #1 for 5 of those weeks.
