 | VirileVagabond (38) 07/05/2006 | Released in 1971 on the full-length "Ram," "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" almost sounds like a novelty single, yet McCartney pulls it off with his usual flying colors. The track features Paul's signature bridge between distinctive movements as he shifts between the uncle and admiral. "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" charted in the U.S. for 12 weeks in 1971, peaking at #1. Though obviously a difficult song to cover, Freddie Hubbard, Buddy Rich, Urbie Green, and Percy Thrillington have all taken a stab at it.
