 | oscargamblesfro (81) 12/13/2006 | Best song on his solo debut, and one of his very best solo recordings period. Really nice guitar and organ work on this track. I've always felt that a lot of his post- Beatles output was mushy and/ or disappointing, but he really nailed this one.

 | Skizero (15) 03/07/2005 | a very pleasant ode to love in the Macca tradition. a little mis-placed on the album it's on, but still a great song. the live version is even better.

 | VirileVagabond (37) 11/18/2003 | Maybe I'm Amazed was the best track off of Paul McCartney's first solo full-length effort, McCartney (1970); nevertheless, the single was largely overlooked until the live version became a hit in 1977. The song has a varied pace as it crescendos into each refrain, the lyrics an ode to the love interest who provides synergy rather than mere support. Maybe I'm Amazed remains one of the most popular McCartney songs to cover, including recordings by Billy Porter, Black Oak Arkansas, Deep Purple, Tom Scott, Faces, Lena Horne, and Petula Clark (who takes the single downtown).
