I've never felt the Lions uni's were a rip-off on the Cowboys because they were a team before the Cowboys entered the NFL. The Lions have always worn the silver pants, Honolulu Blue jerseys and silver helmet. What I don't like about the Lions alteration of their uni's this season is that they have caved-in to marketing demands, and, like many franchises in all sports, thrown in black to their color scheme. They have a black face mask on their helmets and have outlined their numbers and stripes with black. I don't have anything against the color black, but when it has never been a part of your color scheme, and then you suddenly mix it in-I don't like that. I like sticking with the colors a team has had all along. It gives them a unique look that is identified with the particular organization.

Same old football in the same old uniforms...

The uniforms are okay, it's just too bad that Bert Lahr by himself could kick their asses.

Nice jerseys.The blue ones should have silver numbers with a black and white outline on them.Also I wouldn't mind seeing the blue pants come back with the white jerseys.Even black ones would looke cool.I love the black jerseys with the blue names and numbers.

Great uni's. Black trim and jerseys are EXACTLY what they needed....It's the only thing Detroit has every gotten right..other than barry sanders and charles johnson..

The uniforms are SOOOO cute! Blue with white.. Totally coordinated! Nothing like the ugly yellows and other colors you see in other football teams! Sometimes, the colors are nice - separately - but the way the teams put them together are just plain UGLY. I applaud the Lions for coming up with such coordinated, cute colors for their uniforms!

they had great uniforms before. the black trim ruined them but the black jerseys are even worse. a travesty.

These new uniforms are awesome but they should toss the gray pants and wear blue ones all the time. An all blue home uniform wouldn't be bad.

Home blue uniforms- Awesome. Road white uniforms - Boring, they need blue pants like they briefly wore back in Barry Sanders era!

I really like these; don't know why no one else does. The black trim is sharp but not over-stated; it's not as if they now have black jerseys with Honolulu blue trim, or black pants, or black helmets, etc. This is not like what the Falcons did in 1990. This is a very good-looking uniform.

They used to be the best in the league. Go back to the Barry Sanders era uniforms.

Did not need to change uniforms, the new ones look aweful. I can't even enjoy their games anymore because they look so bad.Go back to previous ones, and wear the blue pants on the road like they did in 98.

Black stripe update is totally lame. Best leave ok-enough alone or re-do altogether. Losing tradition doesn't help otherwise okay unis.

Pro football is a flashy game which means I generally prefer the flashier uniforms. As a result the uniforms worn by the Detroit Lions fall in the middle of my preference list. The relatively deep blue tops with silver pants is a nice mix of class and flash. The nifty pawing lion on the helmets is a nice touch without being too simple, much better than a D for Detroit.

The uniforms make Mike McMahon look like a superstar instead of a bum. They are a nice combination of color. It makes anyone look better than they are.

There are worse in the league, but Detroit's uniforms look like a knock-off of the Cowboys.
