My ex father in law made pancakes so good they were almost a felony. Changes in arrangements mean that I haven't had them for some years.I find most restaurant pancakes pretty indifferent.

Yummy! Yum! Yum! When syrup is poured over hotcakes, they taste delicious. They also taste great with honey. Some people like butter on them but not me. I give pancakes a 5 star rating.

Love them. As much as I adore pancakes, I don't often get a chance to eat them, as I'm seldom awake during normal breakfast hours (for health reasons, this is probably a good thing). On the rare occasion I find myself in a diner, this is what I order. The quality of diner food can vary from pretty good to miserable, but it's hard to mess up pancakes, in my opinion. Just recently, I had to drive my grandmother to a hospital near where she lives for cancer tests (thankfully, she's ok). She had to be at the hospital very early in the morning, which meant I had to drive from central Jersey to north Jersey fighting the hellacious commuter traffic into NY. The night before, I didn't sleep and left my place REALLY early in order to make sure I was there on time. Long story short--I found myself in her NY-area town at the ungodly hour of 5am. With nowhere to go and not having eaten, I stopped in the local diner. The only people there were me, 2 waitresses, and the Greek maitre'd, who shouted at the TV as they broadcast news from Iraq (given how unhinged he seemed, it didn't surprise me that he was a Bush supporter). I'm not necessarily a diner fan, but it's truly hard to go wrong with pancakes. Although I don't like to think of myself as a glutton, and wasn't particularly hungry, I ordered pancakes with lots of butter and maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a LARGE black coffee and orange juice. Absolutely hit the spot like nothing else could have. For entertainment, one of the waitresses began arguing with the maitre'd, saying she would never allow her son to be sent to Iraq to fight. The maitre'd began screaming in a thick Greek accent, "Traitor! Traitor!" The other waitress attempted to keep things from escalating, and I got the idea that this sort of "drama" had occurred here not infrequently. When the maitre'd turned to me and began talking about how HE had fought in the war (not sure which one he was referring to, but it could have been World War I for all I know), I paid my bill and made as graceful an exit as possible (as I drove to my grandmother's house, the orange-rose dawn over the NY skyline was absolutely exquisite). I left an extra large tip, for the adrenaline surge and the pancakes.

I've always loved pancakes. I remember when I was little my mom made "Mickey Mouse pancakes".

This list is making me hungry and is giving me ideas. Maybe I shall go and make me some pancakes...

Pancakes are one of my favorites. For a special rare treat, chocolate chip pancakes are amazing.

They are great for something different, as long as the syrup isn't too sweet.

Nothing better than a modest helping of homemade pancakes with some butter but I'm not really a fan of syrup; it always seems to get all over me and make me feel sticky. Restaurant pancakes and frozen pancakes (ugh) typically all taste the same...crappy.

They gotta be Buckwheat or buttermilk. Smothered in butter and syrup.

I detest pancakes. They taste like nothing and literally fall apart in your mouth. I do not see the point of adding chocolate chips or blueberries in them. Why not just eat a chocolate bar? For the most part, I hate syrup.

Pancakes are great, and can be cooked with different batters and with different toppings and syrups. Some people even like to put jellies or peanut butter on top. Very tasty.

Pancakes, while enjoyable, are a bit overrated in my opinion. They do taste pretty good with syrup and/or butter, however.
