 | VirileVagabond (37) 11/18/2003 | Chains Of Love was Erasure's biggest hit in the United States, and for good reason. The single is Erasure at its pop oriented Euro-synth electronic best. Released on the 1988 full-length The Innocents, electronic new wave had matured throughout the decade, and the single reflected this. I would like to hear more interpretations of the single; however, I am only aware of the two covers by Phantasmic and Temperance. Chains Of Love charted in the U.S. for 11 weeks in 1988, peaking at #12.
