 | Astromike (18) 07/11/2008 | Pretty delicious! Even though I've only eaten at an "American" Greek restaurant. I love the roasted lamb, and vegetables! Very tasty. The place in Houston is called Niko Niko's

 | Petr4 (2) 07/11/2008 | The world's finest Cuisine, that's why Greece is the only western country that junk food type resterants like McDonald, Pizza Hut ,Applebbes e.g. never became popular. So,to enjoy real Greak cuizine you must visit Greece, esp. northern Greece (Macedonia) which is the capital of Greek food culture. The restaurants with greak food outside the country are really terrible. Greak oil, fruits, vegetables, meat and fish are unigue.

 | texasyankee (21) 05/19/2005 | I got the fortune to be invited to a greek friend's family reunion where they had -of course.. nothing but different greek foods. It was like I died and went to heaven. Always liked lamb with mint and baklava, but this was a true greek feast.

 | Graymalkin (51) 05/11/2005 | The Greeks gave us not only the basis for our American government, but beautiful people, breath taking landscapes and oh, so delicious cuisine. I love the dolmas and stuffed grape leaves. Feta, roasted lamb, gyros, moussaka and baklava to name a few. I need to have a feast with my friends and a glass of ouzo to finish the meal.

 | irishgit (138) 01/08/2004 | Marvellous stuff. Peasant food, but what tasteful peasants they are. At its best with an icy bottle of Retsina and a few shots of Ouzo to top off with.

 | raincat (0) 01/18/2002 | I agree with you, Castlebee - feta is the best. (feta is betta? ha ha) I almost live on Greek salads in the summer. I love them with garlic toast or pitas and tzatziki. Spanakopitas-those little spinach pies- are also tasty.

 | CastleBee (81) 01/04/2002 | Oh, how I do love Greek food! I can remember the first time I ever tried it – strangely it was at a small Greek restaurant in Hawaii. But it was owned and operated by Greeks and completely authentic – not a slice of pineapple in sight. This was the first time I experienced stuffed cabbage leaves and that gem of all cheeses – feta! It was love at first bite. Later I moved on to the wonderful salads with Greek olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion and a scoop of potato salad in the bottom of the bowl, gyros and the dozens of other delights. An added bonus is that Mediterranean food in general tends to be on the healthy side. I can’t remember the name of the little place in Hawaii just outside Honolulu, but I will recommend Pappas – an excellent old and respected restaurant in Tarpon Springs, Florida! You won’t be sorry.
