The acceptable face of Socal in terms of a major city compared to LA. Easy to get around not as hip or cultured as San Fran but none the less it has the best year round climate in the continental US. However, to conservative for my blood and outside of the beach not much natural beauty.

a tad overrated. the weather without a doubt is the mildest in america. but there is quite a bit of pollution. plus, the people generally seem uninterested in any important issue of the day. that can best be summed up by a interstate hwy sign , a big one over the freeway, saying "Beaches", a little too military , also. but hey, 70 degree weather yearround makes up for a lot.

I have lived in San Diego for most of my life and I agree with one of the other raters...aside from the weather, San Diego is not that great. I feel the people are pretentious, fake and very impatient. Every place you go is overcrowded. The highways are like a sardine can. You can be doing 80 on the highway and someone is tailgaiting you! I am anticipating leaving to go down south in 2006. San Diego is a wonderful place to visit, but unless you make more than $100,000 a year, you would not want to live here.

overated city. weather the only plus. very expensive, avg CONDO is running around $310,000.00 HOUSES are avg. $410,000. traffic is very very congested. try commuting to north county after getting off work..25 miles takes 1.5 hours at times.Beaches way too crowded on weekends. Come here for a vacation before deciding..

San Diego is a great place. Weather there is great year-round, you can enjoy the ocean at the end of a hard working day and people are nice, laid back and warm.
