Not as sprawly and dirty as Houston but still rates very low in my book. Blistering hot summers very little to do in downtown after 5 pm. Like all Southwest cities you can't get to anywhere without a car very spread out and overall not much culture unless your into bull riding rodeos and other cowboy stuff.

Dallas is a pretty little city with a booming economy, great people and is surrounded by the fastest growing suburbs in the country. No wonder so many people from the North are moving to Dallas.

I never liked Dallas (I lived outside of it as a child). Road hazards, violence, noise, large population. I guess I'm just a country girl by heart, Dallas isn't country enough for me.

There is a lot of crime in Dallas. It was kind of scarey to drive there when I first moved to Texas because I still had PA plates and boy did pepole criticise me for it. The airport is awsome though....but not actally in Dallas, thank God. Hard to believe that Fort Worth is so close to Dallas and such a different place...now Fort Worth was great!

in re quality of life issues, dallas rates pretty high. you have access to a lot (shopping, jobs, entertainment, etc) without a high cost of living . weather can be extreme, though. and crime is a real problem.

I've been there and its freakin rednecks everywhere...doesn't have any culture and is loaded with hicks. Houston on the other hand is decent for Texas. I mean lets face it, who the hell would want to live in this hick state? You want to be around culture, good food and sexy people then get yourself to NYC quick!!

The most boring, contrived city in the US by far, with the deadest downtown. If you like malls, Dallas is fine, although it has no unique shops. If you like culture, go to FT Worth.

This city seems to have a lot to offer. But I couldn't shake the creepy feeling it gave me when I visited. Nothing against the people as everyone seemed friendly enough. Maybe it was because when I looked out of my hotel room window I had a perfect view of the sixth floor museum...did you know that they light that window up at night?

I've been to Dallas several times and I can attest that it kind of sucks. The only attractive thing about it is the skyline -- Miller really needs to start a Clean Up Dallas campaign. From what I've seen, Dallas is divided into three parts: the business sector, Deep Ellum (nightclub central), and my personal favorite, the West End. It's basically some old-school brick buildings containing restaurants, a nice aquarium, arcades, etc. The West End is the only part of Dallas worth seeing in my book.

I'm a little surprised to see Dallas rated as high on this list as it is. It's a vibrant city, sure, and has a great skyline, but it's also got a lot of sprawl and traffic problems that, to me, make it not nearly so livable.

Dallas is a great city with a booming economy and is one of the best cities in Texas to start a business. Life is vibrant and never a dull moment in Dallas.

Fairly non-descript city. I just don't think Dallas has a unique atmosphere. It's fine for a business trip, but to go on vacation just to Dallas? The most famous attraction here is Dealey Plaza, the place where President Kennedy was killed. Kind of morbid when you think about it; the most famous attractions in the city are associated with someones death.

While it certainly is a big city by all definations, and even the skyline is kinda nice, this city is overly dirty and out in the middle of no where ! They gay community is fairly large as well, but I just don't think I would ever want to live here, one visit was more than enough for me...
