Consistently rated the fattest city in America need I say more? Also, anytime a shopping mall is your main attraction i.e. the Galleria that says alot also. The new American city cheap housing and urban sprawl.

i lived in houston for 6 years, from 1998-2004. it was a lot better when i moved there. it has just grown too much, so now has the typical problems of congestion, crime and pollution. but, there is a good mix of people that are friendly, and housing costs were very reasonable. plus job growth has been steady.

Its the worst city in Texas. For a better life go to Austin.

Friendly people, low costs of living, good shopping/entertainment options, and some of the best restaurants anywhere (this includes NYC) make Houston a decent place to visit or live. Minuses include horrible summer heat & humidity, traffic, and unattractive surroundings (have to drive to Austin to see hills and rivers).

There's much fun to be had in Houston. For a big city,it is fairly clean and the people are nice.Very good restaraunts with generous,Texas portions, and a great Night Life.

For the culture of Texas, and for vaca. spot places, Houston isn't too bad. But as I stated for LA, it isn't worth the risk of your healthy lungs to stay.
