There is great potential in Pittsburgh. Its in a beautiful natural setting with the three rivers it is very green and hilly and it is in a bit of a renissance moving from an industrial city to one of a knowledge based economy. Alot of history probably the most underated city in the country.

Pittsburgh is one of the cleanest and safest cities in the country. The steel mills pay attention to pollution and the streets are fairly safe. The people and businesses really care about their city.

Pittsburg is a really beautiful place. It has a spectacular downtown on the banks of three rivers. The interwinding bridges, add to the beauty of the city. It sure is one of the most beautiful moderately populated cities that I have visited.

Underrated, to say the least. Making a comeback. It deserves it too.

Last time I was in Pittsburgh (maybe 10 years ago), I enjoyed it a lot. Plenty of nice urban areas, a great downtown culturally and restuarant-wise, and generally a sophisticated atmosphere.

a good city beset by hard times. has a vibrant cultural scene, but sadly you have to search for it. not a lot of jobs unless you want to wait tables or be a scientific researcher. getting extrememly gentrified b/c inept politicians think this is what a modern city should be. still, an attractive landscape and high-class schools. but to locals none of it matters, just the Steelers.

I'm surprised to see Pittsburgh as low rated on this list as it is. I think people still think of it as an old steel town, rusting away. In fact, it's probably the best example of rust belt recovery. The skyline is pretty, the surrounding hills are nice, there's two new stadiums, some very pleasant neighborhoods like Shadyside, and it's inexpensive. It doesn't have much of a nightlife yet, but it's not a bad city by any means.
