Might be the least cultural, least literate, least interesting city I've ever been to in America. It doesn't even compare to second-tier cities. . .just a place I couldn't wait to get away from.

Jacksonville is an armpit of a city. Highest crime rate in the Southeast United States, one of the dirtiest, highly uneducated, culturally devoid, sewage polluted rivers, dirty beaches. The downtown area is supposed to be undergoing a revitalization, but the same abandoned buildings and empty lots exist. The only thing that Jacksonville has going for it is that there are several excellent colleges and universities there. Too bad more of the local population doesnt consider attending them.

At first site, Jacksonville seems to be a dirty, run down city. But if you dig further than the interstate going thru it, you will see Jacksonville has alot to offer. Downtown needs a little renovation and so do many other areas, but overall the people seem to be really down to earth and tend to act more like small town people. Which can sometimes be crazy in such a large city. Jacksonville is also the largest city in Florida if you base it by population. There are other cities in Florida that are alot worse...JAX isn't too bad...

Jacksonville is dirty, run-down and crime infested. There are almost no cultural attractions of interest here. They don't do much to bring people in. The beaches that are about 20 minutes to the east are by far and away not the best in Florida. St. Augustine, the oldest city in the US, is about 30 miles to the south, that's interesting to see. Forget Jacksonville though, it's a toilet.
