I like Columbus. Down town has some unique shops and horse and carriages. Kind of neat. And of course it is home to the largest horse show in the world: The Quarter Horse Congress! I have to go through Columbus on my way to PA so I stay on 271...the circle...hard to go through down town.

I'd call Columbus the "Most Average" American city. Its is only place in Ohio I'd consider living. Unlike the rest of Ohio, it is prosperous and growing. Downtown is nice, German Village is cool, and the city is not completely overwhelmed by blighted ghettos.

The only great and complete city left in Ohio. Have traveled all over and Columbus has a large variety of shopping, arts (galleries/theaters), growing sports venues, and is a very interesting city full of unique modern and old urban neighborhoods. Downtown has three old gorgeous theaters and 4 modern new ones in the Riffe Building. This is where many local professional theater companies perform. For sports the NHL is in the great Arena District. The first soccer only stadium, in the USA, is where the MLS Columbus Crew plays. Other than that Downtown Columbus is mostly a business district, but has added 1,000 housing units in the last two years alone and is building much more residential at an astounding rate. What makes Columbus unique, especially for a Midwest USA City, is that the downtown is surrounded by maintained amazing urban neighborhoods and districts. If in the city be sure to check out the Art's oriented and bohemian Short North/ German Village, a revived real German Village /The Arena District in downtown/ parts of south high street in the brewery district/ Also Clintonville is interesting and full of unique shops and bohemian treats. If your into music Columbus gets most large acts plus many smaller underground bands that perform in very select US cities. This is because Columbus has a very young and progressive population. Easton Town Center in the newer part of the city has Nordstrom (Saks etc is at Polaris Fashion Place) and many other stores only located in several cites in the country. And of course if your interested the Ohio State University Campus can be fun but is only one percent of Columbus. An interesting spot in the University District is Shi Sha Lounge. This is a Hooka Bar and is open usually all night with music, food, and a great place for young people to hang out. To clarify Columbus is the largest city in Ohio and the 15th in the country. And of course when it comes to cities size isn't important, but Columbus is the right size where you can find enough to do, meet friendly people, and not get lost.

Please. Strip-mall USA. The only thing worth seeing is Ohio State. . .anything. Only culture and nightlife worth a damn is associated with the school. Outside of the university, Columbus is a glorified cow-town.

Columbus,Ohio is a very nice eastern city. The city for one has one of the biggest universities in the world, Ohio State University. The libraries and art museums are fantastic. The resturants are cheap and fantastic in the University District. This city has tons of great neighborhoods that are affordable and comfertable. Columbus has a very, very low poverty rate for a large city and has a major feel of prosperity without rubbing it in. Some people say Columbus is average, I think people say that because Columbus isnt filled with arrogant, fast paced people like many cities its size.

A better city than those from outside of Ohio think. The only large city in Ohio that is growing in size.

Columbus is a great city, with lots to do and easy to navigate. The added plus is the fairly low crime rate.
