 | sfalconer (21) 03/04/2006 | The world has so many other things to laugh at then Arnold being California's Governor. The French, the recent Palastinine elections, democracy in Pakistan and the Democrats.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 03/04/2006 | YAre we talking about Tookie Williams again? Whew. The world is laughing (or crying) about who's Governor of California? Right. They're not inclined to laugh about the incredibly consistent failures of their own governments, particularly compared with California's overall success. They're not inclined to laugh at their own leaders' ineptnes, visible for 20 to 50 years and manifested by double-digit unemployment rates, racial and religious unrest and revolution, including terrorist attacks, massacres of their citizens, starvation, tax structures and economic policies which stifle even the most persistent efforts at economic growth . . . but they're laughing at Arnold.
Executing a convicted murderer, in accordance with the law in place at the time of his election somehow transfers to a Congress (which murders, also), the President, foreign and domestic policy, blah, blah, blah. Yourinmysoul, you've got the liberal talking points down pretty well (it's all Bush's fault, he'a a murderer, an idiot, his administration is all murderers and incompetents) . . .oh, you forgot that they're all LIARS!!, too. Try to find a way to include that in your next diatribe.
Look, Arnold was elected by the people of California, according to their laws. Period. It's way too early to judge his competency, which deservedly is under close partisan scrutiny. But, to conclude that he's so bad, the entire rest of the world can safely laugh at his election jumps the gun. Most governors get between 2 and 4 years before they even have to run for re-election.

 | yourinmysoul (0) 03/04/2006 | the world is more likely crying then laughing, but thats mostly cause of horrific US policy then arnold. i can't laugh even about that, especially after he had allowed the execution of a man who was helping the community from jail. thats a disjustice to society. its essentially a murder of society. but hes just following the leader, the murder runs right up thru this congress right to the white house. murdering people, foriegn and domestic..murdering rights, murdering the constitution..murdering the present, and the future...we have a problem that goes beyond one or two men and its gonna take alot more than one vote every year or two or four years to fix it.

 | SZinHonshu (44) 02/28/2006 | I agree with CanadaSucks' statement that the Golden State "excels at shooting itself in the foot". People should not be laughing, however, at the election of this RINO. They should have been laughing when Californians went to the polls and elected the clown who the Governator replaced.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 02/28/2006 | Not disturbing at all. . .I'm laughing with the rest of the world and am completely unsympathetic to the plight of California- "We wanted someone who wasn't a politician!" Sure, now you have a washed-up actor who is clearly in over his head. . .I swear this state excels at shooting itself in its own foot. . .

 | irishgit (138) 02/04/2005 | Screw 'em. Its not like the rest of the world hasn't provided its share of jackass politicians, most of them well off the scale and way more dangerous than Arnie ever will be.

 | abichara (60) 03/07/2004 | They weren't laughing as much as when we impeached a President over his getting a bj in the Oval Office.

 | Enkidu (37) 03/07/2004 | Let them laugh. I don't think any nation on earth has yet devised a foolproof method of choosing leaders, and in spite of the constant cynicism, we don't do too badly most of the time.

 | teacher1965 (0) 03/07/2004 | Who cares if the world is laughing. I don't think the many Californians who are getting the money back from the ridiculously raised vehicle registration care what the rest of the world thinks, besides when he gets the California straightened out just like he did with the Kennedy finances, the world won't be laughing anymore.

 | pabob (2) 10/17/2003 | The world is laughing at the current inept state leadership in California, their flagrant mishandling of their state budget, and the ridiculous policies that have been proposed and approved over the last few years (a legal drivers license for illegal immigrants?)
