 | Dawnsdinos (6) 02/09/2005 | We need more people to run for office that are not politicians. Politicians are the whole reason this country is in the mess it's in.

 | middlefinger (4) 12/05/2004 | Very disturbing, however...HE's not a natural-born american citizen! HE is rumored to be a Hitler admirer as well as a Nazi-sympathizer; for these reasons, HE should NEVER be allowed to run as a candidate for President of the US.

 | abichara (63) 03/07/2004 | No, like Irishgit said, most actors don't want to take the paycut. Frankly it wouldn't make a lot of sense for actors to get into the political battlefield where they won't have people kissing their asses all the time. And if an actor wants to run for public office, let them. We need new blood to get into the fray. The founders did not design this political system exclusively for careerists; there are many ways to the top. A blend of different experiences makes for better decisionmaking at the end of the day. Actors can win political office, but obviously it'll all come down to whether they have sensible views and if have the ability to run a competent campaign.
