If I have an idea of what I need, this is what I use it for. I can also find random things as well.

Surfing the web, as much as a time-waster as it can be, has given me and is still giving me, a much broader view of the world than the view I had with a conservative raising in a small town. I find good deals, I can dig up useful information that is useful to everyday life, I can even make money on the web if I dig hard enough for sites that actually pay. I can put a brick and mortar scam out of business by reporting it online to the BBB. I can find out movie times, and book plane tickets. I can social network, and make friends that I haven't met yet. I can meet people of other cultures and beliefs. I can come across new concepts, philosophies, beliefs, that I never would have otherwise. So this is my justification for how much time I spend on it.

Like probably most people, when I first got internet access I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and spent a lot of time just surfing the web. As time went by the novelty started to wear off, and I find myself now visiting just a handful of regular sites (like RIA). As other comments have noted, I still sometimes find a new site that becomes a new regular, I often discover some intriguing fact or article not related to my original inquiry, and I found RIA when searching for some information (in may case a ranking of military leaders). Nevertheless, these are now the exceptions for me personally, and as one gets older and has more responsibilities computer use for work and more practical tasks start to take priority. All off this results in a loss of one star.

Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a person to fish and he will buy an ugly hat. Tell someone to surf the web, to find out how to fish, and he won't bother you for months.

I love surfing but ever since people started with all this virus crap on their websites really ruins my fun

Of course, when I'm not playing games this is where I'm at on my computer.

I tend to do a hellva lot of surfing in my spare time, main sites for me are here, b3ta.com and 4rthur.com. I'm always trying to find funny links that I can post on 4rthur for my friends to look at which can take some time... I also use it to check out camera deals and websites where I can store my images to get them really out there for people to see.

I like surfing the web, but my brother is always on, so I don't get to a lot. Sometimes I get annoyed by all the pop-up adds and AOL always kicking me off. But the internet is super fun!

Well, If I didn't, Why would I be on here?

If you are paying for your internet service and not actually having some fun w/ it, something is wrong.

I’ve been online for years, at first I simply loved to surf around looking for the right greeting card to send someone. Then it expanded and I started doing research for various information online. I usually have something in mind to start surfing for, and often, end up in a totally different direction. But the outcome is usually wonderful. For example when I found this site, I was searching for another site that I use to write for years ago. So surfing the web can be both fun, and educational.

You can always come across some interesting stuff.

This is definately one of the biggest perks of having an on-line connection. The World Wide Web is a vast frontier of information that is so easy to find. Like "abichara1882", I also found RIA simply by surfing the web. Just browsing the web can lead you to so many unexpected positive things, like this website.

Anyone who is on this website cannot give this a bad rating. The fact you're on here means that one reason you use your computer is to surf the net

When I use my computer this is what I spend most of my time doing, surfing the web. It is a lot of fun to surf the net because you can always find something new. The web is a valuable and entertaining resource.

I'm an internet addict. The flow of information is constantly pumping straight into my veins I just can't get enough. Surfing, working and playing on my computer consumes almost 16+ hours of each and every day. What a great life, maybe I should go outside but why do that when I can view 3d panoramic images of the most beautiful outside scenes in the world.

Surfing the web is a lot of fun! It's especially fun searching for new sites. In fact, I found RateItAll by coincidence; I was looking for something else and I was given a link to this site. That's when surfing the web is the funnest, when you find a site that you bookmark and return to constantly. I usually keep coming back to a certain site to view the changes that occur, especially if it's a site that keeps track of current events and the such. There's just so much out there in the World Wide Web, I just wish I could see it all, but obviously time limits me from doing this.

I enjoy surfing the web. It is right up there with research except I am usually surfing for the fun of it.I have found a lot of cool websites surfing the web including RATEITALL. I have put a lot of the ones I like in a favorite file so I always have them.It is amazing the great webpages I have found when i am just surfing.

What's the good in having a computer if you don't surf the web? I have to be on the internet atleast once daily. Hm.. isn't this how addictions start?
Snoopy 01/18/2002
Surfing the Web can can be fun. There are a lot of awesome sites out there, including this one. The downside to surfing the Web is that it kinda takes away time that I should be spending doing my homework.
Galomorro 01/16/2002
Great. Even if I do have a hard time finding what I am really looking for.
