My Beautiful Laundrette (Credit to Jed1000) 4

Nice British movie dealing with the plight of Packistani emigres living in London and the many issues with which they have to deal to fit in. The protagonist, Gordon Warnecke, is only incidentally gay and his homosexuality is indeed one of the bright spots in his life. Nice understated performance by Daniel Day-Lewis as his tough but loving and supportive boyfriend. Uplifting.
