Look for the girls in pairs, or studying alone, but in the open...you get the picture...of course a cute smile from her would be helpful...if she's in your class even better...conversation should be a piece of cake...some suggested funny converation could include: help me I'm going to fail this test, what's a text book?, or flip it and try to dazzle her w/your stellar knowledge of Pythagorean Theorem...

Very, very easy to meet people in a library. And most libraries are not expected to be quiet spaces anymore. Many libraries also have adjacent cafes now, too.

Same thing as the bookstore, only you'd have to be a little quieter. Good place to look for someone who is at least more probably intellectual.
