It's a good extra outlet and it doesn't have quite the sketchy connotation it did 5+ years ago.  Kind of like getting a job will you have the best chance if you do one thing - if you only network, or only apply to help wanted ads, or only go to job fairs, only knock on doors - no the person who is doing the combination of things will be most succesful and won't be as disappointed when 1 door abruptly closes.

well maybe. I never tried this myself. it may be good at pairing up two people. but from what I have heard sometimes it can be as disastrous as a blind date.  I had a friend who met her future husband this way. they married less than a year later. they have been together about 18 years. guess they are happy.although I personally thought she settled.because she so desperately wanted to get married. but maybe for some this could at least be something to try.

My best friend and VFern's best friend met on some internet service website- so I guess it works sometimes... and indirectly worked for me and Fern. LOL
