I was saddened to hear of his passing. The little fellow apparently had a stroke today - hopefully a poor diet wasn't to blame. As I've said elsewhere, it's been a tough year to be a mega star celebrity.

To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a commercial person (or much TV, for that matter). Most of the commercials that come across my TV are muted, unless something strikes my interest, then I will see what it's all about. The Taco Bell dog was a great icon for this company. I found it to be quite entertaining.

Not terrible, but I never got into the talking Chihuahua spots for Taco Bell. Of course this campaign was memorable, as so many people remember them (always good in advertising). My guess is that this breed of dog was chosen due to its association with Mexico; however, why some found that offensive is a mystery to me. I will say that the tie in with Geico's talking gecko was a nice touch and probably the campaign's best moment.

Annoying at his best. Insufferable at his worst

One of the better mascots, I miss that cute little thing. I hated it that Hispanics took it out 'cause they didn't like it. That's just being sensitive. And I don't see why Hispanics have to step into our business. They should just let Taco Bell keep it. They're not the boss of us anyways.

These commercials were just awesome. Come on, who could resist, Here lizard lizard lizard! Plus, the Geico crossover commercial was sheer brilliance. Oh, great, a talking gecko!

I love Chihuahuas as pets. They are great dogs with wonderful personalities. And I loved this advertisement campaign. Highly creative and very original in my opinion. Chihuahuas are very intelligent as well...it doesn't surprise me at all that Taco Bell used this breed of dog...probably didn't take much training...

This mutt should have been put down years ago.
